i don't have Photoshop on this computer, but i want to insert this guy into this meme:
It's probably telling on myself that I solved this first grouping in no seconds flat.
My first exposure to Torgo was FF #174. So good. It was also during the period when Ben had no powers and was using a Thing suit to compensate, which I did not know going in. Imagine the surprise of young me seeing Ben suddenly shedding his skin at the push of a button.
Everyone's talking about Star Fox today and all I register is this guy from Marvel Comics.
I was never much of a Batman kid growing up, but this issue written by Gerry Conway was and still stands as one of my favorite comics of the era. Detective Comics #526, "All My Enemies Against Me!" with art by Don Newton and Alfred Alcala. (deleted OP and reposted w/ image and correct issue #)

I mean, this is seriously evil. Opening day. Our home opener.
I've been loving Storm under the guidance of writer Murewa Ayodele, and have been chasing down all his work. I just read issues 009-013 of the Avengers Unlimited Infinity Comic he did with his frequent artistic partner Dotun Akande. Not a fan of the Infinity format but this did not disappoint.
I've never really ever been able to get into the Legion of Super-Heroes (small doses, here and there), but even as a kid, I loved Mordru, I loved the idea of Mordru. I still do.
... particularly his fight scenes, when someone gets walloped and goes flying.
Keeping with the Sal theme, I'll be reaching for Defenders #64. I was about 6 or 7 when this came out. I don't know if it was necessarily my first Sal comic, but it was the first that I noticed Sal's distinctive artistic stylings...
And yet people can't seem to grasp why ICE doesn't give people warm, fuzzy vibes?
"NEGATING A FRAME REINFORCES IT" seems like an apt analysis. (art: Jack Kirby, natch')
