Memes have started ruining my brain. I read the caption/overlay, and was briefly confused when I saw that this was not the picture.
Spotted this in the New York Times ('s sports partner/subsidiary[?] site) and immediately recalled this thread. An example in the wild:

The manhole cover by the supermarket around the corner, here, was made in a country that no longer exists. And the supermarket used to be an East German cooperative shop. The decor still kinda looks like it.
I was just out for a stroll to pick up some groceries and this building got deep on me. I always forget, and then every time I pass by this place, I noticed this.
