Using playback experiments and biologging, we show that humpback whales use a cohesive anti-predator flight strategy on their breeding grounds. Our findings thus suggest this strategy is conserved across both feeding and breeding grounds.
How do humpback whales respond to danger? 🐋 Here's one answer from our latest research, led by Loanne Pichot >>> doi.org/10.1016/j.is...
If you’re a Master’s student interested in movement ecology, biologging, noise & conservation, join me and some great collaborators for an internship on how wind turbines and associated noise shape lesser kestrel (Falco naumanni) movement and behaviour.
(1/7) 🐋 Remember those humpback calf-perspective videos I used to share? Super cool, but they only showed what the calf’s camera could catch. What if we could zoom out and see the whole scene?
Our latest paper is out in Proceedings of the Royal Society B 📄! We investigated the behavioral context of social calls in humpback whale calves. royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/10.1098/...
Had a great time presenting some of our most exciting findings on the vocal behavior of humpback whale calves at the #SMM2024! Stay tuned. A paper is on the way! #Perth #Australia
Successfully defended my Ph.D. thesis (Uni Paris-Saclay and Uni Antananarivo) on 08/11/2023! The conclusion of a memorable journey with the best thesis supervisors in the world, Isabelle Charrier, Olivier Adam, Aristide Andrianarimisa, and Chloe Huetz!
