Science, Stand-Up & Song is Thursday, Aug. 20 at Vancouver’s Fox Cabaret! Tickets: bit.ly/scienceticket
This is one of only two results in a search on CBC.ca/news for headlines containing the word "smithereens." Is the other about... a) what a supernova teaches us about dark matter b) firefighter car-rescue training c) the band by that name?
I'm THRILLED to be part of this event on August 20! The lineup of comics is stunning — a bunch of people I've been dying to share a stage with, in some cases for years now. (Tickets: bit.ly/scienceticket ) But there's more. #vancouvercomedy #yvrcomedy #sciencecomms
I mean, c'mon. The drama. The suspense. Will they miss a bounce? Will their nose get too sore? Will anyone see the point where I looped the GIF?
Many thanks to Vancouver Parks Board Vice-Chair Brennan Bastyovanszky for making this riff possible. And I’m just as proud of this bit as he is of his. #vancouvercomedyscene #yvrcomedy #vancouvercomedy #vanpoli
I didn't watch a single World Cup game. But I was glued to the @firefox.com widget.
Thanks for sharing this! Unfortunately, someone cropped off my name and credit (why people do this is beyond me). Here’s the original: www.robcottingham.ca/cartoon/arch...
First posted this 11 months ago. And this probably won't be the last time.
More than 30 years ago I worked on this project with NOW Communications for the BC Ministry of Health, and built the first youth-oriented anti-tobacco website — while, it turns out, cancer was quietly preparing to take both of my parents.
Remember back when Fox News was going berserk over kids supposedly identifying as cats and schools giving them litter boxes? Simpler times, friends. Simpler times.
Maybe the crisis in masculinity is a marketing problem. I have suggestions.
What GenAI needs is an amusing catchphrase to use when it faceplants, instead of the incessant "You're absolutely right. I got that wrong." May I suggest...
You see this neighbourhood cat that normally gives me head butts and nuzzles whenever I walk by, meowing loudly for tummy skritches? The MOMENT I try to get a photo with it to promote Friday's Catnip Comedy at Slice of Life, it wants nothing to do with me. SO TRANSACTIONAL. But you can show it.
I give you the happiest mallard duck in the world. (From yesterday's birthday photo walk.)
"The show has evolved into something much different from the nobody-gets-their-arm-cut-off event that was pitched to us, and we will not be participating."
Nearly 20 years since I drew this one. Still reliably coming up with terrible ideas.
The one thing that might unite us yet. (Final punchline is an electoral system joke, because you can never have too many of those.)
Catch an evening of cat-themed standup comedy at Slice of Life (1636 Venables Street) on Fri. June 12! I'll be joined by a passel of highly talented comics. I have NO CAT JOKES — so expect a lot of new material! Doors open 6:30 pm; show starts at 7 pm. Tickets: www.showpass.com/catnip-comedy/
