Seeing my friend @maurenegoo.bsky.social beautiful, joyful face for K-pop Demon Hunters’ win was such a great # Oscars moment.
Catherine O’Hara attended more than of my events in the past, but this was definitely the top. It was an author talk for Andrea Martin’s biography, and Catherine and Martin Short attended and both got called up onstage to join the chat. What a dream! RIP Catherine. I’ll really miss you.
Bravo to the NBA Players Association. “NBA Players can no longer remain silent.”
Tremendously moved by a screening tonight of the heart-rending film All That’s Left of You, with a live Q&A with its gifted director/producer/writer/star Cherien Dabis and moderator Mark Ruffalo. In theaters beginning tomorrow and expanding in the weeks after. Go see it!
Loved “Is This Thing On?” Nice to see Will Arnett talking about the film in person tonight.
Just devastated to hear about Rob and Michele Reiner. What a profound loss to this world. This was a photo I took of him just two months ago at a book event with Griffin Dunne for his book about Spinal Tap.
Quote with your favorite film and album from the year you were born.
Haven’t seen enough of the EOY contenders yet, but this scene will stick with me for a long, long time.
I would like to admit into evidence this dress, clearly reconstructed by Andie out of one of Iona’s dresses from the 60s.
These should still be playing every Saturday morning for the rest of human history. #SchoolhouseRock #NoMoreKings #KnowledgeIsPower
Thankfully Adrian Daub’s analysis of Peter Thiel’s insanity gets straight to the point. www.theguardian.com/technology/n...
Fun night tonight with Rob Reiner and Griffin Dunne discussing This is Spinal Tap and the new book on the making of the film, A Fine Line Between Stupid and Clever and the flip side of the book, Smell the Book: The Oral History of Spinal Tap.
Cher and Cyndi Lauper perform Girls Just Want to Have Fun tonight at the Hollywood Bowl.
The gay gasp surely caused the earth to quake in WeHo when Cher joined Cyndi Lauper at her farewell tour final show at the Hollywood Bowl. I was sufficiently impressed just by the Yayoi Kusama backdrop.
Reading Hollywood High: A Totally Epic and Way Opinionated History of Teen Movies by @brucehandy.bsky.social and loving how deeply it dives into a genre I love intensely. But shocked he completely forgot Valley Girl. It goes hand in hand with Fast Times, I think.
What perfect album came out when you were sixteen? (Released literally a few days before I turned seventeen, so it counts)
Neosporin flavored ice cream doesn’t sound all that enticing to me. Offering FREE shipping on ice cream doesn’t sweeten the deal either.
A simple message that I believe down to my core: support and protect trans kids.
Sometimes I wish everyone knew how luminous and wonderful Jean Arthur was. And by sometimes, I pretty much mean always. #classicmovies
Can anyone explain this to me? Did they buy this PORCSHE from guy selling watches on the corner?
Alien: Romulus is released August 2024. Ashley St. Clair and Elon Musk’s spawn is born September 2024 and given the name of Romulus. Coincidence? Maybe the kid’s actually an alien who will kill us all.
Posting this photo of the divine Eartha Kitt simply because she is bad-ass and very much looks it.
Imagine @chuckschumer.com being naive enough to believe that only Trump and the Republicans own this chaos. You own it too, Chuck! Your capitulation and that of your Democrat colleagues has been breathtaking.
