Assessment type. Films, records, books, That Sort Of Thing. Wielder of guitars. Will write for Scampi Fries, or cash. I’m not like this because I’m in Van Halen, I’m in Van Halen because I’m like this. Letterboxd: Croydonite.
Not many set openings can beat One Step Beyond, Embarrassment and The Prince
Rattling the Discogs app sent me here for Sunday morning. Thanks, app. Thapp. #nowplaying
I knew they’d brought in a new drummer, and a keyboard player, but this latest move has really come from nowhere
Great pedal, just a wee bit too big for the board. Replaced with this little thing (which also came to me with helpful white paint/tipp-ex additions)
This well-worn trem is no longer in my possession for clearer pics, but was bought with these lines. Could never decide whether all vertical or all horizontal was meant to be the optimal setting.
Was so, so impressed by Backrooms, knowing v little going in. The found footagey/liminal spacesy/dreams-corridors-dream stuff was much more interesting than the vague attempt to introduce an explanation, but it’s still horror that’s much more about vibes than exposition; fantastic ending, too.
Completely blown away by Aldous Harding at Barbican tonight. For various reasons, I’ve failed to see her up until this point, and it was every bit as life-improvingly good as I’d hoped.
Just so we’re clear, is this a franchise reboot of a spoof series that was largely spoofing a film that was a pastiche in the first place?
