I'm happy to say that people were amazing. They demonstrated a deep respect for the island and its inhabitants. Nobody harassed the wildlife or disturbed the built heritage. People can be great. I'll finish with one happy little fact. The collective noun for a group of puffins is a circus.

A circus of puffins gathered on a rocky outcrop. The puffins are black on their back with almost navy tones. They have white chests and white over most of their heads except the top. Their feet are webbed and orange. Their beaks are predominantly orange with some wedges of darker, navy tones.

For fans of sci-fi, I'm not gonna talk about the famous movie that was filmed here because they were dicks when here. Instead here's a photo of what is very obviously a place of power from The Witcher. Also,I dare you to look at the second pic without humming the Jurassic Park theme. You can't do it

It's difficult to describe this picture as I'm not sure what I'm looking at. There's a beautiful rocky outcrop at the edge of a cliff that stands almost vertical. It looks more like an abstract sculpture than a rock. It has two large holes in it. It imposes on the photo similarly to an altar or a shrine would. The Atlantic dominates the photo behind it.

A very rocky island that gets very steep, very quickly. It is covered in a thin blanket of bright green vegetation. It bears a resemblance to many islands in adventure movies such as Jurassic Park or Kong Kong

I've thawed out so here are the beehive huts as promised

More happy little puffin pics

I know gannets are probably less charismatic than puffins but seeing 10s of thousands of them swarming the island and hovering above it was the most *life* I've ever seen anywhere. They almost formed a blanket over the island. It was breathtaking.

As some of you have probably guessed, I got to visit the Skelligs over the weekend. While seeing the puffins on Skellig Michael was obviously incredible, I found the gannet colony on Skellig Beag particularly moving. Hear me out and I'll share more puffin pics below #spéirgorm 1/n

I mean, the fort we came here to see was really impressive and everything. It's like 1300 years old and is made of dry stone walls. But the highlight of this site was using the fort to get a good view of the field with the two hares in it

A very impressive stone fort. In thr very centre two c shaped walls form a broken circle. At the margins are 3-4 tiers of circular stone walls with the tiers getting taller ss you get closer to the outside. It gives the impression of amphitheatre seating, designed to view the central circle from all angles though I suspect this was not the actual use of the fort

I have more photos to share once I get home, but I couldn't wait to share this one. The puffin under the stairs is the patron saint of introverts who hide from people they know when they see them in public.

These accounts are so fucking dangerous because they are knowingly lying to people to advance a cause. This undermines public trust and makes them as bad as the administration they claim to "resist". You're normalising the fascists' behaviour and are helping establish a new norm that serves them.
