I'm seeing generative junk like this more often on LinkedIn. Nobody criticizes. It even gets likes and comments praising it. Propagating ignorance, how sad.

Generative graphic purporting to show a pulsed laser deposition setup. It has numerous errors, the most basic of which is that the laser beam isn't pointed the right way or hitting the right thing for this to even work.

Plot of my home monitor indoor air PM2.5 levels for the last week. The earlier spike is from when I skillet fried some zucchini. Outdoor level is 493 now.

A plot of PM2.5 levels (vertical) vs hours. The blue line stays near the bottom of the plot at 0-20 except for one spike around hour 42 to 90. At the right side of the plot, the levels climb over the last 24 hours to a level of 150, which is hazardous.

Jurassic Park and bonkers stuff like Event Horizon or Until the End of the World all had prime Sam Neill moments. My favorite are in this unpretentious comedy though:

#caturday This is our other cat Penny. She is more aloof and judgmental than π. Her favorite thing besides food is jumping into this basket so she can be vigorously petted while getting soothingly scruffed on all sides by the wicker.

The quality of air quality data is improving. This is a reasonable map of the LA area showing hazardous air around Riverside. We have enough density, now it would be good to have NOx and other species measured.

This is π , my wife's covid cat. She is the most vocal cat I've ever known. Imagine R2D2 but in trills and meows. There's rarely any doubt what she's thinking.

Just one example, this is how waves of light look going through a focusing lens:

This is my US map. Hard to capture different people's experiences of the country this way. Even parts of cities can vary a lot, states can be wildly different within their borders.
