Well, in full disclosure, I was somewhat close. It's all the old school civil rights Baptist churches not just the Ohio Baptist State Convention. It's tricky to figure out even when you know about it.
When the 1918 Spanish flu ripped through Camp Sherman, Chillicothe, Ohio, it killed 1,700 recruits. Legend has it there was so much blood running out of the Majestic Theater from the embalming the alley beside (or behind) the theater was called “Bloody Alley.” Who needs a flu shot in the army?!
I hadn't put together that the '68 Olympics Black Power salute and John Brown's 1859 Harper's Ferry Raid were on the same day. If that's not a holiday I don't know what is.
This is brutal and completely unnecessary. Truly a great group of people to work with gone because a Congressional appropriation wasn't disbursed. It's criminal.
