BRAKE on COMPARATIVE YOUTH CULTURE is today’s #VintageBook - a classic in 1980s youth subcultures and sociology. Who else read this for their studies? I preferred the more Marxist approach of Hebdige but did find Brake interesting!

New Zealanders: I have a question, in the 20th c & 21 c is it common to refer to the former #Yugoslavia as ‘Dalmatia’, or even whole countries eg Croatia as ‘Dalmatia’? I have heard it twice now and 😳 as it seems a tad … old fashioned?? Did Tito not make an impact in #Kiwi land? 1989?
