Indeed. I am planning to use telekinesis to reinvent brain surgery, please give me 1000 squillion dollars
Ah right, the problem here is OBVIOUSLY school trips, not the lack of road safety measures, poor quality of the infrastructure or chronic corruption of traffic cops. I remember making this and many other trips in Uganda and learning to disassociate due to the frequent near misses.
Well, I got scammed. Embarrassed to have fallen for it but sharing it on here in case others come across it - midea-germany.de is not a real website and not affiliated with Midea. Midea has confirmed they've reported the site two weeks ago but it's still up and presumably still scamming people.
What a day! Six independent bookstores and some treats for all the family. #brusselsbooktrail
A very helpful reminder of why raising children in Brussels is so delightful. Europe's most diverse city ❤️
We are three decades into widespread internet access, two decades into ubiquitous social media, online news and smartphones. And yet this is still a ubiquitous sight in supermarkets and airports. A reminder not to get too breathlessly carried away when we talk about technological transformation.
This extremely ominous sign at Tesco really feels like THE zeitgeist of the UK right now
Obviously many things have changed in the last seven years, but I suspect this headline formula is going to become very familiar to us all.
2012: Clint Eastwood yells at an empty chair and everyone makes fun of it 2026: this speech is now official White House policy somehow
feels like I have received this email with this headline roughly once a month for 8 years
Really hoping this snippet from @barrymalone.bsky.social doesn't become a totem of 'what if' in the months to come. I remember the last major ebola outbreak all too well.
"Content algorithms are already a problem - now imagine that turbocharged with personalised brain data" My @cfg-thinktank.bsky.social colleague outlining the extremely overlooked risks of the fast emerging neurotech sector. #copenhagendemocracysummit
The Tech & Democracy day at the Copenhagen Democracy Summit is kicking off. Very proud of the @cfg-thinktank.bsky.social team for shaping the agenda today alongside @allianceofdemsorg.bsky.social
"Hope is not a strategy. Europe must throw off its naivity and complacency." Former NATO SecGen opening #CopenhagenDemocracySummit with a challenge. @allianceofdemsorg.bsky.social
This piece on pregnancy in the @europeanreview.bsky.social is just so good. europeanreviewofbooks.com/the-business...
The media simply has to stop falling for these nonsensical court politics stories.
Pretty eye opening from @ranaforoohar.bsky.social on DOGE www.ft.com/content/63a4...
Wow, such a 'revelation'. Thanks for this brave reporting Politico... Can we move on from this nonsense - they are opposing political factions! What do you expect them to do?
I have a doozy for @eoghanwalshbxl.bsky.social's annals of "people don't give a fuck". As I was dropping my two year old at crèche this morning, somebody threw a trash bag full of empty cans and food from their 4th floor balcony. Landed just in front of us.
Well worth reading @kopalo.bsky.social on the USAID gutting www.africanistperspective.com/p/american-a...
