Freddie is a black and white tuxedo cat. This is a picture of his face and upper body as he sits on my chest and looks dreamily off to my left. You can see a little drool about to drop onto me. (Don’t worry, I keep a little hand towel to drape over me for this purpose.)

I mentioned that Fred’s favorite time to come cuddle and drool is in the wee hours of the am. He will walk across my pillows until I pull over a large towel and drape it across a pillow. He will then flop down nose to nose with me as I cuddle him and he throws a paw over my neck. He will stay and drool for a few minutes and then jump up and off the bed and continue with his early morning cat stuff…whatever those are. He doesn’t tell me.

Crazy, drooly boy. 😽

Another installment in #ShowMeYourKnits blanket week. My first attempt at entrelac. It is a little clumsy but was a nice soft blanket given to a new mom on my rowing team several years ago. #knitting #knitting #knitsky

Well, this week's #ShowMeYourKnits is perfect for me because I make a lot of baby blankets! These two are from Tin Can Knits: Polygon (complete) and Vivid (WIP) More info in the #alttext #knit #knitting #knitsky

Baby blanket. Pattern is Polygon from Tin Can Knits. It is a modular blanket made by knitting a bunch of hexagons and half hexagons and then stitching them together and adding a border. The long sides are straight and the ends are pointed following the edges of the hexagons. The one I made has a bunch of different colored hexagons and a heather grey border.

This is a knit and blocked square from another Tin Can Knits pattern named Vivid. It is a medium green color and is ribbed around the edges and has a lacy middle that looks kind of like a flower. The pattern is also modular and comprises a bunch of these squares knit together to form a blanket. I have been making them in different colors but have more to go to finish the blanket.

Out on a hike with a friend today and passed a little picnic area. There was a tree almost in peak bloom and when we walked by it heard a cacophony of buzzing. It was full of bumblebees! Nice sound of spring. Sound up!

#ShowMeYourKnits 🧶 this week is cables so here are a couple of baby blankets I have knit for people. The first is a fisherman’s knit and the other is a loose cable (close-up and full pic in different colors). I have done both of these patterns multiple times.

Ok… Everything is terrible. 😞 Here are some cats living their best lives.

Trixie, a medium-hair tortoiseshell cat, is sitting on an ottoman in a portrait style picture. You can see out of focus part of a hearth and a side door. The shot highlights her different dark and orange coloring with an orange stripe down her nose on a mostly dark face and a chin that is half orange and half dark. She is a sassy and talkative lady, with a silly side when she gets playful. She would like to treat Freddy as her son and boss him around and frequently groom him but, alas, to her daily disappointment he does not comply with her plan. Nevertheless, she is very loved and snuggles with me instead.

Freddy, a tuxedo shorthair cat, is lying on his side on a bed. His head is closest to the camera and a little out of focus. His right front and back paws are in the air and his mostly white belly is exposed. It looks like he is fixated on something out of the shot. Freddy is all baby-man and a goofball. We are playing in this shot. He likes playing on the bed with hair ties and little balls of paper. I fling them around and he jumps up or pounces on them. He would make a great goalie in cat soccer. And he is often up for a game of fetch when I fling or flick said hair tie or paper ball off the bed. Sometimes he’ll bring them onto the bed again or just drop them on the floor at my feet. He needs a lot of play time, this cat. Sadly, he and Trixie don’t often plan nice together so I am his primary playmate. So we play a lot.

This post came up in my feed. Indignantly challenging people to block her for her reaction. I responded to SOMEONE ELSE who asked who decides what "culturally normal" is. I responded to that person that it was people in power: white, cishet people. SHE blocked ME. Sensitive much? LOL, ok lady.

Trixie, a fuzzy tortoiseshell cat, and Freddie, a short-hair black and white tuxedo cat, are lazily lying on a bed about a foot away from each other. They are both on their sides facing each other with their bellies exposed, as if to invite a gentle belly rub, which they did then receive. A perfectly tranquil start to the day. ❤️

Of course, shortly after this Trixie felt the need to rouse herself to go over and groom Fred, which he hates. Shoving ensued and Fred ended up jumping off the bed to avoid the onslaught. Oh well. 🤷‍♀️

Big and small, it all counts.✊🏼 …But with Trixie this is also a literal invitation/plea for some belly rubs, which she actually loves. 😻

Happy #Caturday from Freddy with a side of toe beans. And a bonus pic of five years ago this week when Freddy came to me as a little baby. #CatsofBluesky #Cats

I love this naughty, impossibly cute cat. It was five years ago this week that he came to me as a little pandemic kitten.

At the foster, I had a choice between Fred and two other longhair tuxedo kittens. But this one was the one who kept trying to jump off the table to go explore stuff. Impossibly cute and naughty. So, of course, he's the one I brought home. To this day he continues his impossibly cute and naughty run. But I wouldn't have it any other way.
