The left shows Maikel Garcia pre-hand injury (Opening Day until 4/29). The right shows post-hand injury (4/30 to 6/23). Hard-Hit, Sweet-Spot%, and Pull Air% all declined sharply post-injury, as did xwOBA. Also walked less, which may have been due to pressing #FountainsUp @tjstats.ca
As for Lange, he leaned heavily on sinker and slider, which both rated well. Like Wacha, he generated chase and minimized hard contact. A solid outing for Lange as he gets more comfortable in closer’s role #FountainsUp
