I wrote a letter about the importance of an infrastructure first approach to planning in the constituency. This is not an argument against new homes, just an argument for any development to be supported by infrastructure that all residents new and old deserve.
RAF Fairford doesn’t have a Military Aviation Noise Contour (MANC), while many local residents are having their lives negatively affected everyday. That isn’t fair. Now that bombers have operated out of the base for nearly 5 months, it’s time to carry out a MANC.
Last week, parts of my constituency went without running water. At the same time, water bosses were given pay rises. That is a disgrace. Anger over bills and pollution far predates my time as an MP, yet water companies continue to reward themselves for this ‘work’. It must stop.

After last week’s Lime Down Public Hearing I got the opportunity to put a question to the Minister for Energy Security and Net Zero about their plans to wheel back the blanket commitment of solar panels in car parks.

I have written a letter to the Secretary of State for Defence regarding the reported investment planned for RAF Fairford. Whatever work ends up being carried out must be done with local residents’ wellbeing in mind.
Yesterday I gave the opening statement at the public hearing for Lime Down. Residents were not reeling against renewable energy in general, but in the current failure to adequately account for the environmental, ecological and social consequences for the communities that will live with Lime Down.

As part of the Climate and Nature Bill I put forward at the start of my time in Parliament, the Government committed to yearly updates on what it is doing to hit its climate and nature targets. I was pleased to hear from Sir Alan Campbell, helping ensure we get this update as soon as possible.

It’s independent bookshop week this week. I had an opportunity to speak with the Booksellers Association about how vital they are for local communities. A great independent bookshop can be the cornerstone of a local town. We must keep these independent havens alive and kicking!
We were finally able to hand in our Petition to protect NHS services in the Cotswolds to Number 10 today. This has been a long time coming, with so much time put in by so many selfless activists. The signatures that have been collected demonstrate the support that our local health services have.
