The Spurs' second-half offense last night was a lot like the Eagles' second-half offense most of this past season. Haunting for me, a rare Eagles/Spurs fan. (Multiple titles are quite the salve in both cases)
"I'm sure he didn't mean that! I'm sure he cares! I'm sure he wants to do the right thing!"
If you want athletes to "shut up and dribble" and "stay out of politics," then elected representatives need to make better statements than this one from an athlete. (My state's federal delegation, including a former NFL player, does not.)
Every post on the CBS News X feed in at least the last 48 hours (that's an intentional deep cut) has a link or video or something else of concrete substance to support what the post says ... except this one (and it was shared by the Vice President of the United States and the wealthy owner of X):
The phrase "Derangement Syndrome" should be retired to a dustbin no matter whom it's applied to. Even if it's someone I may favor. Do people act irrationally in politics? Sure. But that phrase comes across as a copout with the message that a person in power can do no wrong. It skirts accountability.
"You're in an echo chamber!" Yes, over here, no credence is given to the idea that women shouldn't be allowed to vote.
So a MAGA strategy is to get voters to think in terms of *property* and not *people*
There is not a person more irresponsible with misinformation on social media than my state's 3-term elected United States Senator.
My dad's whiskey collection. I kinda fell far from the tree in this one aspect.
As a Philadelphia Flyers fan, I cursed this man's name in the 90s and 2000s. We had great scorers and couldn't solve this legendary goaltender. Anyway I like him now.
Checks and balances are now a punchline, apparently (name cropped out, but it's someone who definitely knows better)
