I played yet-another cabaret fundraiser performance this weekend, and snapped this video of me at the keyboard. I have resting *something* face, though I can’t decide quite what. (I’ll take this down in a day or two…)
"Control wrapped in genuine care" is a phrase I can get behind. Now, what else am I getting behind? :)
The weeping cherry tree I planted last year is giving consideration to blossoming soon!
As my home very gradually gets put back together, I’ll just say that I’m super happy with the new chandelier in the dining room!
First D&D session went smashingly. They even navigated their first combat! I use a white board on an easel with movable magnetic strips to track initiative order.
I’ve moved the stereo into the D&D room, and along the way added some wallpaper to the LP storage (it’s a sterile white Kallax underneath).
So, I shopped for additional seating for my D&D room (as I’m sometimes calling it) - I need seating for five, and one chair needs repatriating to the living room - and ordered two of these. They’re beautifully comfy!
Narrator: he did, in fact, hang some stuff up. The wall needs some touching up, but I’m generally over-the-moon with how this turned out.
This is Osiris (left) and Thistle (right). I adopted them together from a shelter that specializes in cats that have “failed” to be adopted at other shelters, usually because they’ve aged out of that “super cute kitten” zone. They recapitulate every relationship dyad every day, like Didi and Gogo.
Progress pics on the reimagining of (part of) my office! I moved the Kallax bookshelves to create a room divider and have acquired a rug and the first of several new chairs. I’m debating what kind of deep red to paint an accent wall, hence swatches; some of the stacked art will go on said wall.
Up to my usual antics (visiting the mothership this week — aka actually going to the office instead of working from home two states away). The restaurant next to my usual hotel has finally reopened under new ownership and I am officially reviewing the wine list.
I both do and don’t want to know what all the containers of candy are for. I just know they are for sickly-sweet drinks.
Treats for kids, treat for me. Wine in a tumbler to be a smidge less obvious than a wine glass.
