shaped like a friend. making indie arcade games as "running jump". engineer at blizzard but this is a personal account.
super loved this piece from @xoxogossipgita.bsky.social, particularly the parts about understanding film on its own terms. this part in particular reminded me of a Hitchcock quote that changed how i thought about movies
redeeming a doordash voucher from work and what the hell kind of art director nonsense is this in the background
can't be overstated. being remote is tough for a lot of reasons, but it is an absolute godsend for parenting. i'll probably commute again someday, but at the very least i can't imagine how it would be to not have the flexibility to WFH when I really need to. you just can't fit it all in otherwise
last night i prepped the prizes for the anniversary tournament we’re having tonight and let me tell you, i had a blast slapping this album cover into some jewel cases. it was made for this
i know the "more like this" recommendations on Steam vary wildly but i will still accept the W of having Dyebreaker compared to Mina and UFO 50
how it feels going into this weekend as the employee of a microsoft-owned game studio
hey if you're in Austin come play my arcade game next Friday, July 10th, for the release anniversary don't worry if you've never played, seems like every tournament we have at least one finalist who had never played the game before. we'll have some fun prizes too. come through and bring a friend 🤝
thought discord was being extremely passive aggressive about how long it takes me to respond to DMs
Dyebreaker Cabinet 002 will be on freeplay at Oddwood for North Austin Game Night, June 18th lots of local projects to check out, including another local, indie arcade cabinet, Pixel Pushers Union's new cabinet for Tahitian Driftin' + Foolish Earthlings
absolutely unbearable how google has started responding to my searches as if i would ever be using my search bar to address it ???
closing the loop of serendipity, good buddy @tigerthelion.bsky.social happened to be in Toronto right after the cabinet was finished and i got a first hand report. incredibly fun to see a friend playing this real-ass cabinet for a fan game i made a full decade ago. surreal
