Thompson’s innumerable contributions to the community include the founding of the See Me organization, and serving as chairperson for the Dementia Friendly Englewood task force. For her work in the community, she was awarded the 2023 Floyd McGee Community Hero Award.
At today’s health fair, we honored beloved community member Deborah Thompson with a tree dedication in the garden of the West Englewood Public Library.
Congratulations to Gloria Williams who was awarded the 2026 Floyd McGee Community Hero Award. The award is named for the late Floyd McGee, whose work with @uicpublichealth.bsky.social Community Outreach Intervention Projects and the Englewood community had a tremendous impact on so many.
