Dice Throne! It’s battle Yahtzee. You each pick a hero and roll to activate abilities and defenses. It’s mostly original characters (with great art design), but there’s a Marvel expansion. You can play gambit vs rogue!
Name a TV show you’re positive no one remembers but you. (Jensen Ackles was such a baby face in this one)
Sir Bernard of Beansington is our current foster. He’s a well dressed and rambunctious little fellow. His name is officially just Bernard, but he’s so full of beans that he got the addendum #CatsOfBluesky #ProofOfCat
And, finally, the reason that DC3 was in Gander. A great big Lockheed Constellation, operated by KLM. The first pressurized airliner to offer trans-Atlantic service. Shot in the early 1950s on 16mm film #Film #History #Airplanes #Gander #KLM
Going to jump forward to a different DC3. A Trans Canada DC3 flying out of Gander, Newfoundland in the early 1950s. For decades Gander was a hub for trans-Atlantic flights, which is why it famously had enough runways to handle the diversions on 9/11. Filmed on 16mm #Film #History #Airplanes #Gander
This plane was filmed a year later, in 1939. Lovely looking Douglas DC-3 operated by Inland Airlines, who merged into Western Airlines, who then later merged into Delta. Shot on 8mm film. #Film #History #Airplanes
I'm going to post some airplanes! We're going to start with a TCA Lockheed Model 10 Electra from 1938. A year after this, this plane was used by the RCAF for training. Fun fact, it's the same model that Amelia Earhart was flying when she disappeared. Shot on 8mm film. #Film #History #Airplanes
I know the block/removal features are healthy overall, but they’re sure hard on my inner drama llama
Waterfowl are amazing in their variety. I got this great shot of a merganser while canoeing last year
This tradecraft was old news in WWII. There’s no helpful tips being shared. Just because it’s new to you doesn’t mean it’s new, or even notable, to anyone with a hair more experience
I think about his Mad Max: Fury Road quite a lot. I guess I’m now less confused that he had trouble wrapping his head around truly complex filmmaking.
But you can't golf year-round, even in Lethbridge. So, curling! You've got to keep busy. No one is booping rocks here Also shot in 1938 on 16mm film #Film #History #Lethbridge #Curling
The shots with with the bridge and coulees in the background are so iconic. These were shot in 16mm film #Film #History #Lethbridge #Golf
Feels like a good day to visit Lethbridge. Old time sports! First some golf, then some curling This footage of the Country Club was shot in 1938. Look how short all the trees are! Things have come a long way since, although it's all still surprisingly recognizable #Film #History #Lethbridge #Golf
