Looking to re-establish a bit of what I actually liked on the other site - connections to the good people of B’more/MD, as well as other interests - Packers, Orioles, birding, history, science, food (especially Chicago/Philly food)…
Everyone in the cast was magnificent, but man alive was Dale Dickey nailing it out of the park in Widow’s Bay…
I don’t think there’s a better Dad feeling than getting the FireStick successfully set up on a hotel TV. Bonus points for needing to use the hidden buttons on the TV itself…
First stop, New Castle, DE. A lovely little city, rich in history and completely overlooked. Most of the historic houses and such are open for tours on Saturday, but we did a quick walk to take in as much as possible with the AQI grossness…
3D “fireworks” glasses for a firework show that already exists in three dimensions? Don’t mind if I do…
The mini-me with one of THREE Wilmington Blue Rock mascots (Rocky the Moose, Mr. (Señor) Celery, and Rubble the Rock)…
Despite the haze, smell, and odor, enjoying the Blue Rocks/Blue Crabs game in Wilmington…
Neither my wife nor I know where this singular ridiculous plate came from. But it brings me such joy…
“…that John Denver is full of shit, man.” Quite possibly the most underrated line in cinema history…
Chicago has it right. It’s got to be dragged through the garden as they say. But onions mustard and relish in a pinch will suffice…
Family member shared this from the FB arena… First, I need that hat. Second, that’s exactly how my Polish gramma expressed emotion and that’s why we MOSTLY grew up chubby and happy. I miss her.
I feel like $5 a pound for Aldi “wagyu” is like gambling a bit with our health and/or general welfare, but go big or go home for 250, amiright? Nobody’s sick yet, and it was damned tasty…
My 11YO asked to show us one of his favorite shows. And what he hit us with was about the last thing a couple of gummied-up old farts need tonight…
I can’t even begin to imagine the mental leaps from Point A to Point B here… I think this is the night they all finally broke me a lobe.
Kinda reminds me of when I got MRSA and my ever-so-thoughtful sister got me an unusually adorable MRSA stuffie…
My sister’s husband lived in Lancaster/York, and we lived in Philly, so I’m partial to SE PA. The food scene in Lancaster is criminally underrated… And dear lord, Maple Donuts in York. I think they even got a mention in one of Ms. Streeter’s books IIRC…
Sweet Jesus. The first two audio books in the series were ~25 hours long a piece. I thought I had about that much ahead of me for part three… NOPE.
If you get a chance, the HMCS William Hall (a Harry DeWolf-class offshore patrol vessel for the Royal Canadian Navy), is definitely worth the visit as it TOWERS over Fells from the Broadway Pier…
