Jack of all trades and award losing journalist.
Here's Ghent University's letter to Cofnas that has been circulating publicly for a few days. So academics who signed the letter in support cannot claim ignorance. It is clear he was NOT suspended for whistleblowing.

Fraser Nelson is just trying to shut the barn door after the horse that he encouraged for years at the Spectator has already bolted.
The whole Yookay explicitly racist discourse has been going on for at least a couple of years. How is it just filtering up to the chattering classes now? Radicalisation takes time.
'Debate is one thing. Legitimizing eugenics, teaching replacement theory & hiring someone who argues Black people should disappear from elite positions is quite another. There's a line between academic freedom & institutional complicity & Bouke de Vries has crossed it. Repeatedly.'
Members of the Department of Philosophy & Moral Science's very detailed paper on why they believe Cofnas shouldn't have been hired over 14 other more qualified applicants. www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/t47r5...
'Forty-five philosophers from Ghent University called for Cofnas's resignation, accusing him of "promoting racist pseudoscience". Over 300 staff and students signed a letter of protest.
Then came Cofnas. De Vries hired him as a postdoctoral researcher for his ERC-funded project. Cofnas, has written that "in a meritocracy, the number of Black professors would approach zero". He has claimed Black people are, on average, less intelligent than white people.'
'A photo recently surfaced of three American anti-"woke" activists: white nationalist Richard Hanania, far-right influencer Curtis Yarvin, and "race realist" philosopher Nathan Cofnas. The optics were bad enough. But the story behind Cofnas’s arrival at Ghent University..
Ghent University employs a professor who teaches replacement theory, legitimizes eugenic pseudoscience, and hired self-described "race realist" Nathan Cofnas whose views have been condemned by 45 of his own departmental colleagues. droxtailstews.substack.com/p/prof-dr-bo...
"It was a joke" but yes, I should be the head of the department of eugenics and race science at Harvard 🙄
'I have explained above why, in my opinion, those statements constitute a violation of the code of ethics. Cofnas made them repeatedly and publicly. They must therefore be publicly and unequivocally rejected by Ghent University.' — @ptrbck.bsky.social www.knack.be/nieuws/belgi...
'Anyone who reads Cofnas' blog posts sees that his problematic statements about race are not part of scientific research. They are ideological statements based on a misrepresentation of available science and on pseudoscientific sources.' 🧵

I have something to say on those using black journalists as weapons and shields samanthaasumadu.substack.com/p/on-using-b...
A further eight men in the UK have been arrested for allegedly sedating and raping their partners. “Victims are being subject to horrendous sexual offending in their own homes in an ultimate breach of trust,”
This is obviously the right decision and only happened because there was so much attention. But as of today it will be even harder for police to be investigated for potential misconduct. The government has fought for 11 years to change the threshold, even going to the Supreme Court.

It's long been known that while black and Asian communities are over policed they are also under protected. Why was the attack by Essa Suleiman on the morning of 29th April in Southwark not taken seriously?
An overdue £100 can quickly snowball into a £hundreds more, pushing people further into debt, and can even make someone liable for the entire year’s bill overnight. More info on the National campaign here: acorntheunion.org.uk/bailiffs/
We were made to leave the council meeting. Here's one of our members outside talking about his own experience having bailiffs set on him by Lambeth Council.
ACORN are calling for an end to the use of bailiffs to collect council tax debt and changes to the unjust rules around council tax debt collection.
According to Lambeth council’s own figures (obtained through an @acornunion.bsky.social members enquiry), 24,108 cases of council tax debt have been referred to debt collectors in 2024-25, with £30.8 million of debt referred to them.
Glad to join @acornlambeth.bsky.social for my first action tonight as we called upon Lambeth Council to end the use of bailiffs to collect council tax. The system is broken. It’s unfair and ineffective, with poorer homes paying disproportionately more than rich ones. acorntheunion.org.uk/bailiffs/
