A very ROUND raccoon keeps visiting and I'm delighted every time (no babies this time, maybe they're old enough to split off):
I think I liked this better in concept than execution. Might scrub it clean and start over:
My wife and I have a replica of this plaque in our hallway! Found it at an antique store ages ago and now it's the centerpiece of a small cluster of space art:
I recently got this bag from a Facebook ad and it's a pretty color but kinda plain...
Today's backyard wildlife: a much more shy groundhog who skedaddled as soon as he realized I was watching him:
RACCOON FAMILY IN OUR BACKYARD! A momma and her FOUR round babies! This is not a drill!!
All the hardware I reclaimed from $8 worth of old purses. 8 pairs of handles, 3 shoulder straps, and a handful of D-rings, closures, and miscellaneous accent details:
Same thing w/the books I buy: I've been getting them at library sales for $2-5 a pop, & if anybody knows what's actually valuable to the general public, it's librarians. I'm not dismembering Rare & Valuable Literature, here. And some of the pages also get use (dictionary pendants, sculptures, etc).
The pile o bags I got at the thrift outlet to harvest for parts for book purses. 1/2 of me feels like I'm about to skin a bunch of animals for their meat/pelts & 1)2 of me is like "some of these are still in good shape & somebody might want them..." IF SOMEBODY WANTED THEM THEY WOULDN'T BE $1.5/LB!
I went to the library sale today and found a dictionary so big that it's gonna make a SERIOUS book purse - AND it has illustrations for dictionary pendants! Seriously, this thing is like ten pounds all on its own. (8.5x11x5"!!)
I feel DEEPLY patriotic when I see photos of marches and progressive resistance. Like these:
But a dear friend recently lost one of a pair of earrings, and asked if I could make a replacement match, so I said yes, because I'm a glutton for interesting challenges lol. And after sifting through EVERYTHING I think I got pretty close! Huzzah! (left is her photo, right is my replacement)
Those 2 go into a "miscellaneous" box, sorted by color, which I pick from as needed. Sometimes a pendant/focal point needs just one extra accent bead, so I'll grab from that.
Evaluating how much work I need to do to restock from this market...
Made 3 necklaces while at the booth this weekend - and a good thing, too, otherwise my displays would have had gaps!
