I have been to my local Garden-Centre-with-a-view and bought some bargains. All of these were on an offer of some sort and I paid £4 for the rose, which was £22.99 full price.
Rest in peace, Bill, thanks for the laughs in The Goodies and for doing your bit for conservation.
A really lovely day out at the first RHS Badminton and I would definitely go again if it is held there, it's a lovely alternative to Hampton Court and closer for us too. It was such a relaxed event, everyone was so happy and friendly. The cool breeze was very welcome too!
We have tomatoes! Ok, small, green tomatoes, but hopefully the first of many.
According to Austin, this is the most comfortable way to watch the Djokovic/Sinner semi final at Wimbledon.
It's sad news that Bonnie Tyler has died. She had such a distinctive voice and really used it well. Rest in peace x
This is sad news, I have loved watching her in so many things since I first saw her in The Good Life in 1975. I hope she was as happy in her life as she made me feel when I watched her. RIP Dame Penelope Keith, and thank you.
I've had a lovely birthday with Max and Alex at the Concours des Legendes at Wilton House, near Salisbury. The weather was lovely, the cars gorgeous, the atmosphere relaxed and friendly and the food was good. What's not to like!
How's this, boss? asks Austin. Extra allowances because it was mine and my sister Lottie's fifth birthdays on Sunday?
Happy birthday to Lottie and Austin, five today! Found at about two weeks old, by a compassionate lady who had realised a feral cat had given birth and was then sadly run over, they were lucky to survive. Giving them some treats was the only way to get them in a photo together!
Gluten free cheese snacks. They're tasty, tasty, very, very tasty. They're very tasty. 🥰
Lovely flowers from work, recognition for more than 8 years of service. 🥰
Three years ago today, on one of the hottest days that year, I had my buzz cut and raised money for Alzheimer's Support. It literally was a real buzz! Alzheimer's Support is now Beyond Dementia, it looks more likely to rain, but I still have short, grey hair. 😊
They gave so much for freedom and justice during WWII. Eighty two years after D-Day, we need to continue to stand up for freedom and justice.
Some of the dianthus are out, they were just buds at the weekend. 🥰
We are at the Theatre Royal in Bath, for I'm Sorry, Prime Minister. 😊
Today, the hedges were removed, the end of an era. I'll spend the next couple of weeks digging out new beds, improving the soil and planning what shrubs and bulbs I can plant. 🥰
Twenty five years ago, I planted about forty box seedlings, which grew into the box hedging seen in the first photo. At the end of April, I noticed that the hedge was not looking too good and found that it was infested with box caterpillar. Noooo! Four weeks later, it had nearly all been eaten.😔
A quick, (30 minutes,) cheap, (less than £30,) and comfortable improvement that we should have done years ago. Now we can, if we want, walk barefoot to the lawn without needing to find shoes or every step being accompanied by an "ooch, ouch, ow".
