I can’t grow much (I’ve given up on vegetables) but since moving into our house almost 6 years ago I’ve propagated 16 jades from 1 very sparse plant I rescued from a neighbor’s porch after he moved in with his son. They make me so happy! 🪴

Stood alongside @angelaknapp.bsky.social & all 8 unions in LAUSD today to demand they prioritize students, schools, & education workers. @utlanow.bsky.social members have had 14 bargaining sessions with LAUSD with almost NOTHING to show for it. So today WE showed up for teachers & kids!

One of my favorite movies is Bull Durham. It’s got an Oscar-nominated screenplay & it’s a rom-com about baseball. This book by the writer & director was a terrific read, full of fun facts about his coming up in the minor leagues in the 1960s & a lot of behind the scenes of making the film!

Highly recommend doing something fun for yourself this weekend. This morning we went to a fall succulent workshop at a nursery. For an hour we were just focused on what little plant goes best where and how not to burn our fingers with the hot glue. Bonus: it was rainy! We got a little wet! In LA!

Highly recommend checking your vaccine status and getting anything you can updated while supplies are available. My sister @angelaknapp.bsky.social and I did COVID boosters today which you can get every 6 months. Flu vaccines are still available for this season as well!
