Finally updating my info here just over a year after losing my husband. Next week, I return to Miami with our son. This is our makeshift menorah for this year. We are not where we planned on being and in the midst of intense family medical care abroad having recently moved into a new apartment without most of our belongings. I came to really love our makeshift menorah.

I am voice & movement coach (& overall facilitator for my husband/director–whose health declined prior to rehearsals–w/ his son as co-director) for his production of The Cherry Orchard. 1st work I’ve been able to do in yrs. Hard, but a labor of love–for my husband, the theater, the team, & myself.

He is wearing gray jacket and prescription lenses and is looking toward the conversation I’m having with the actor, to help explain the direction he is giving the actor, which I helped him prepare beforehand, so that I would be clear about what he wanted to convey.

Al teatro esta noche. “Maria Estuardo” by Dacia Maraini. I wanted to get out for a bite before the show & remembered this spot a couple blocks from the theater. They’ve remodeled it (many places did in Lima during the pandemic) & now have a great patio. There is no one else out here now. Perfection.

There are a few empty tables beyond me. On the right are 3 sets of modern French doors that are open and lead to the inside of the restaurant. Hedges line the border of the end of patio with a slight glimpse of the tops of the cars and some buildings in the background of the street beyond.

Teatro en Lima. Checking in on our production tonight. I know, I know. “What production? Who’s “our?”’ It’s either going to be a book unto itself one day or I’ll post about it all at some point. It’s been an absolutely gut wrenching 6 months. But we’re still alive and so is the theater in Perú.

Granadilla; passion fruit with an orange shell, partially ripped off so the seeded, gelatinous fruit on the inside can be eaten directly with a spoon.

Vyaire Medical, Inc. Recalls AirLife Manual Resuscitators due to Risk of Injury or Death

Vyaire Medical, Inc. is recalling certain AirLife manual resuscitators for a manufacturing defect that could lead to injury or death.

Using the recalled resuscitators could result in patients not receiving enough ventilation. In some cases, patients may not receive any ventilation. Patients who don’t get adequate ventilation may not be able to properly exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide (hypoventilation) or they could experience a dangerous drop in blood oxygen (hypoxia). These conditions can lead to serious injury or death.

The FDA has identified this as a Class I recall, the most serious type of recall. Use of these devices may cause serious injuries or death.
