Finally updating my info here just over a year after losing my husband. Next week, I return to Miami with our son. I’m going ahead w/ this leap of faith in the hopes that he & I can more fully come back to life after many complicated & isolated years. I hope for renewed joy & purpose…for both of us.
Theater tonight ❤️ Very poignant that the 1st play I see after leaving Peru is the work of a friend & his husband. And it’s great work. Chris Grace: As Scarlett Johansson is fantastic & this is its last week at Portland Center Stage. Highly recommend! & if it comes to your city, GO. Viva el teatro 🎭
This is our makeshift menorah for this year. We are not where we planned on being and in the midst of intense family medical care abroad having recently moved into a new apartment without most of our belongings. I came to really love our makeshift menorah.

I am voice & movement coach (& overall facilitator for my husband/director–whose health declined prior to rehearsals–w/ his son as co-director) for his production of The Cherry Orchard. 1st work I’ve been able to do in yrs. Hard, but a labor of love–for my husband, the theater, the team, & myself.
If you see this post a bridge. #photography (God, I love that bridge.)
Al teatro esta noche. “Maria Estuardo” by Dacia Maraini. I wanted to get out for a bite before the show & remembered this spot a couple blocks from the theater. They’ve remodeled it (many places did in Lima during the pandemic) & now have a great patio. There is no one else out here now. Perfection.
I’m already disappointed in myself for the choice I’m about to make here instead of just DEALING WITH ALL OF THE PHOTOS ALREADY.
Lima’s flirting HARD today. (primavera calentando motores) #spring
Teatro en Lima. Checking in on our production tonight. I know, I know. “What production? Who’s “our?”’ It’s either going to be a book unto itself one day or I’ll post about it all at some point. It’s been an absolutely gut wrenching 6 months. But we’re still alive and so is the theater in Perú.
I got back to Peru after 4 1/2 years of “pandemic/family illlness-exile” and the first thing I ate was:
Repost with the first album you bought with your own money. I think this is it ($ earned vs. gifted). Pearl Jam: Ten (CD). Ted Cole’s Music Shop. Salem, MA. Heard “Alive” on the radio once. Had time & the family car. It was a gorgeous, sunny day. Decided: I’m going out to buy this band’s album now.
If you want an eye opening look into the world of medicine/medical device safety, and some perspective and appreciation for everything that goes right most of the time, all you have to do is subscribe to the FDA drug and medical device recall list serves.
4 favorite records that came out when I was 20 (artists & album titles in alt text)
Search your camera roll for “art.” Wadsworth Jarrell (b. 1929) Liberation Soldiers, 1973 (see alt text for full painting info)
(1/5) “Of Mice and Men” was the response to one of the clues on “Jeopardy!” tonight. After no correct contestant guesses, I turned to my husband & said, the “…two guys…” in the clue should have given it away. Then, for the first time in practically 36 years (when it was assigned as one of the…
