Not seen in my part of Suffolk so nice to see in Kent was the beautiful Common Rockrose plus the more commonly seen in both areas the lovely flowers of Travellers Joy in the hedgerows #WildFlowerHour

Away in Kent for a few days which means a chance to look for flowers I don’t normally see in Suffolk and one such flower was Squinancywort #WildFlowerHour
I believe this is an acorn weevil. We have a large oak tree at the top of the garden where I should imagine it normally hangs out. However, this one was visiting the greenhouse #InsectThursday
Sat outside the house with a cuppa and an opportunity to count the butterflies around the front of the house. In the last few seconds and just before pressing submit in flutters a lovely silver Y #BigButterflyCount #MothsMatter

Out for a walk earlier & came across an oak tree with just the one leaf heaving with caterpillars. A bit of research & I think they might be Buff Tip moth caterpillars which apparently group together on deciduous trees. Hope someone can confirm the caterpillar type please #MothsMatter #TeamMoth
From the watery ditches of Norfolk, blue water speedwell and if ID is correct, lesser water parsnip. Not sure if they are classed as totally #AquaticPlants or more riparian but in this occasion they both had there roots and I had a slightly damp foot from being firmly in the water #wildflowerhour

Today is my birthday & I received two lovely books from my husband ordered from NHBS. We don’t do wrapping paper & the parcel was handed to me unopened I’m not sure if the beetle came free with the books or it was just a coincidence after I opened the box I suddenly found the critter crawling on me

I couldn’t vote for both large and small Skippers in Britains Favourite Butterfly and opted for the latter, but for a small brown butterfly, I think both being equally wonderful #WildWebsWednesday #Butterflies @savebutterflies.bsky.social
You are never too old to learn and I was pleased to learn this weekend about Black Poplar trees and a the galls that appear on their leaf stems, Pemphigus spyrothecae, or the poplar spiral gall aphid #WildWebsWednesday
Our garden cinnabar caterpillars are making light work of the ragwort. Glad we have plenty growing in our no mow May patch of front grassy area that has turned into no mow June 😊 #TeamMoth #MothsMatter
