Tombul mosque in Shumen (1744) is considered a baroque specimen. To me it seemed more influenced by local Bulgarian art. See these painted wooden ceilings!

Άλλα μέτρα, που ζητούν περισσότερο κρατική υποστήριξη, προκαλούν κάποια θλίψη σε όσους εργάζονται στο ελληνικό οικοσύστημα έρευνας, αν και βέβαια η καθιέρωση προσωποπαγών θέσεων σε ERC Grantees έχει φέρει αποτελέσματα και εδώ.
Αναφέρεται το παράδειγμα της Τσεχίας κ.α. χωρών. Στο ΙΜΣ/ΙΤΕ εφαρμόζουμε τέτοια μέτρα (σε επίπεδο ινστιτούτου) με πολύ καλά αποτελέσματα.
Οι αιτίες δεν προξενούν έκπληξη. Κάποιες είναι ενδογενείς για κάθε ίδρυμα και μπορούν κάπως να αντιμετωπιστούν, κάποιες αφορούν την πολιτική ηγεσία και είναι περισσότερο δομικές.
Δυστυχώς, στο εσωτερικό αυτής της ομάδας η Ελλάδα (EL) δεν τα πάει πολύ καλά. Κάπως καλύτερα στις ιστορικές επιστήμες (SH6).
Η Ελλάδα, όπως και η Πορτογαλία και οι 13 χώρες που μπήκαν στην ΕΕ μετά το 2004, ανήκουν στις λεγόμενες widening countries, που βρίσκονται στην περιφέρεια του ευρωπαϊκού ερευνητικού κόσμου.
