This is the pattern. Loyalty rewarded. Institutions hollowed out. The DOJ, the FBI, the military. Every check on presidential power gets handed to someone whose first obligation is to Trump, not to the law. Blanche is the latest example.

None of this stayed buried. Senate investigators have now sent formal demands to the family firm, asking it to account for its role in the deal. The people who approved the money are being asked to explain it.
Look at the order it happened in. The Trump family stake was locked in first. The deal was signed six days later. Public disclosure came after that. The money moved before anyone was told where it was going.
Now the part that matters most. Lutnick's Commerce Department approved up to 1.6 billion dollars in federal financing for that project. The secretary whose family helped fund the deal signed off on the government funding the same deal.
Then a second family entered the picture. Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. took a 20 percent stake in that same Kazakhstan project, held through an investment firm run out of Trump Tower. Two families, one deal.
The secretary is Howard Lutnick. When he left for Commerce, his sons took over the family firm, Cantor Fitzgerald. That firm then helped raise 210 million dollars for the lead investor behind a tungsten mining project in Kazakhstan.

The Fourth of July cookout is maybe the most American thing there is. Flags, family, a grill in the backyard. The cost of doing that this year has never been higher. That’s not a political attack. That’s the Farm Bureau. When the receipts are this clear, the spin doesn’t hold.
Ten of 12 items cost more. The only things that dropped: potato salad and chips. Everything you actually put on the grill got more expensive. “Day one” price relief was the promise. Six months into 2026, the only thing falling is confidence in that promise.
Here’s the spin: The Washington Times called it “cheapest in 10 years.” The catch? That’s in 1982 dollars, adjusted for inflation. Your wallet pays in 2026 dollars. The sticker price is $74. Last year it was $71. The year before that, less. The math isn’t that complicated.
This cookout is the most expensive since the survey began in 2016. Not during COVID. Not during the 2022 inflation spike. Right now, in 2026, on the administration’s watch, while officials are claiming the economy is turning around.
The Farm Bureau tracked 12 cookout staples. Ten of them cost more than last year. Ground beef reached $14.06 for two pounds, a survey record. Pork and beans jumped 13.8%. Strawberries up 12.4%. Hamburger buns up 7.7%. This isn’t cherry-picked data. It’s the full basket.

This is the move worth watching. Take a service every voter depends on, turn it into leverage, and make access to the ballot something a state has to earn by obeying. Whole states could get cut out, and the voters inside them would never see it coming.
