@scistoryteller
Scientist and storyteller: Atmospheric Science Ph.D., software developer, and scfi/fantasy writer. Occasional character artist (mostly sketches). I love good science, storytelling, and RPGs in all media forms! Smith College alumna. Ace demigirl. (she/they)
Thunderstorm rolling in from the west as the almost-full moon is coming up in the (south-) east.
Tonight’s sketch is entirely @parasite-z.bsky.social ‘s fault.(Sadly, I do not have the time for prep or time/energy to participate properly in Art Fight this year, but enjoy anyway?)
I went outside for lunch and discovered a baby fawn next to our house!! (Don’t worry, I let them be; I just walked on my normal path when I took the photo). Clearly the deer feel safe around us!
Some people have fancy ergonomic moving desks. I have a book nook window seat and this, but it works!
Worked on stressful thing, so of course my answer to calm down is to sketch a character who is *just a little* unhinged. Meet Davos, major antagonist from my #astroprisma run. #oc
Have a lovely Illumination Night, my fellow Smithies, and congratulations to this year’s graduates! #SmithCollege
My view this morning. She was purring and demanding pets which would have been super cute if it weren’t for the fact she was also *dancing on my bladder*
And yet I find it hard to believe actual fascists would have this as a decoration
Quick doodle this evening. This started out as a sketch of myself and my husband, but then turned into some other couple instead.
We put treats in the eggs and the cats had an Easter Egg hunt this morning. Surprisingly, it was Willow who popped one open first. (They are still working on getting out all the treats).
He thinks if he goes under my keyboard and moves slowly enough I won’t realize he’s after my cheese.
Some concept art. Celadon and Nova, a couple of characters from a scifi story that is currently in the plotting phase. #amWriting #characterArt
I did art instead of words. Of course now that I think I could focus, I really need to go to bed.
Accomplishment of the day: we have our spare room set up as an actual guest room now!! (Instead of a bed in my office/study)
Not a cat but something my aunt made for me and my husband (who loves squirrels) that makes us laugh
Slightly chilly here this morning (still not as bad as the upper Midwest. That place is COLD right now.)
The trainees are original characters though. Here is a concept sketch of those:
I’m not a professional artist; most of my art is character sketches (often from my writing work or RPGs). This one hangs in our living room so I guess it’s a favorite. (This one actually isn’t a story character!)
Gets a little more awkward when they are no longer kitten-sized, but still nice.
