I had a few American G&Ls over the years, including a "CLF Research" Doheny and it was really nice. Their import "Tribute" models are supposed to be first rate. Shame they went out of business. This is the one I really regret letting get away:

I walked into El Diablo Amps & Guitars a while back and walked out with this used Pete Anderson Eastsider S (modded with Ted Vig rail pickups.) First time I'd picked up a Reverend and was immediately impressed. Compound radius neck, locking tuners, Wilkinson trem. A real workhorse.
