Garden grass-veneer. I get like a bajillion of these tiny moths every time I put out the moth box. I always enjoy looking at them super close up though - the slightly startled-looking eyes, the little fairy snoot that waves about… #NationalMothWeek
Yellow tail. Probably one of my favourites so far. It kept flying off to stare through a glass door into the building I was at, until I had to take out somewhere with more foliage so it wouldn’t get accidentally squished by through-traffic #NationalMothWeek
Peppered moth - famous for being a demonstration of natural selection during the Industrial Revolution, when peppered moths in polluted towns and cities increasingly became black for better camouflage, while countryside moths remained white with black spots. #NationalMothWeek
It’s #NationalMothWeek! I’ve been meeting some really really good moths lately with the help of my light box. Here is a thread of them. @mothweek.bsky.social Buff ermine
@oolong.co.uk and I just fired our first load of ceramics. This morning I took out of the kiln one of my favourite things I think I’ve made: a dragon for our pond. We also set up a new insta for things we make: www.instagram.com/fernycrafts
I’m not sure if this is accurate for NHS at all but my mental image of easy chew food is puréed stuff presented like this:
Enjoying new podcast What to Carry, What to Burn. This first two-parter is about Ada Blackjack, an Iñupiaq woman who accompanied an Arctic exhibition, and her survival on Wrangel Island. It’s really well told by @blairbraverman.bsky.social & Sarah Marshall of @yourewrongabout.bsky.social 1/2
What do you mean I’ve been playing too much Pokopia this is a perfectly normal sketch of @fergus.oolong.co.uk in a cafe
I’ve been playing a lot of #Pokopia lately. It’s excellent & very hard to put down (think Minecraft + Animal Crossing set in a Pokemon world where humans have disappeared and all traces of humanity lie in ruin) Here are some highlights (no story spoilers but shows a couple of abilities you can get)
Finally home from Glasgow after four long days of conferencing at the PCE Europe Symposium. So tired no more words. It’s been a lot. I did these doodles while listening to talks:
A sunny day to be travelling through to Glasgow! Feeling nervously excited for my keynote at the PCE Europe symposium this afternoon. My talk is titled: Be yourself. No, not like that - Normativity in therapy training and its impact on all of us. More info: www.strath.ac.uk/humanities/p...
I have a chapter in a book! I feel really excited and honoured to be alongside a whole bunch of great chapters and authors writing on the Person Centred Approach. Ebook also available. You can get a 20% discount until the end of December using code 25ESA3 www.routledge.com/Applying-the...
On a trip to Denmark, saw this wasp outside the train window as the train picked up speed. It held on for an impressively long time before being flung off. Those little antenna 🥺 I hope it’s ok
Visited the Lego House recently and can’t stop thinking about this early Lego product
Just look at her though (We really ought to post some photos of her that are not on this sofa from time to time…)
Kifl listening to speakers at @lgbtiscotland.bsky.social Pride in Our Community
Thank you yesterday’s me. This is the kind of reminder I like to see as I’m waking up in the morning 🥰
The important thing, I think, is questioning sameness and normative ideas, why some ways of practicing feel reassuring, while others feel worrisome - whether those feelings come from a helpful place or one that is a reaction to difference: medium.com/@sonnyhallet...
I’ve been quiet on the crochet and weaving front because I’ve been mostly crocheting things in secret. Now I can finally reveal the dragon I made for @fergus.oolong.co.uk ‘s birthday! It’s wired and fully poseable and very goofy 😁
Now my left foot is a bit squished and I have to move soon for work but 🥹
