Enjoying the plenaries at #ICRS2026. Covering the range of reef science here are some highlights: Paul Kench - reef islands are dynamic systems and other marine carbonates like Halimeda and clams make up a small portion of these islands.

I was "first in best dressed" at the #ICRS2026 first poster session and had some great discussions about coral geochemistry 🪸 My poster is number 22 and will take it down this evening if anyone wants to check out some preliminary elemental data from a coral core.

A marine sea slug, or nudibrancha, a shell-less gastropod, crawling on the reef bottom in Timor-Leste. The nudibranch is black with whit patches with white and yellow bumps. There are two small rhinophores or antennae like structures at the front.

Recent trip to #TimorLeste saw a large school of bumphead parrotfish! They were doing a holding pattern swimming circles on the reef - too bad the viz wasn't great. Always amazing to see these gentle giants underwater. #CoralTriangle #addOcean #ScubaDiving

Belated Pi Day apple pie. #PiDay The recipe called for pre-cooking the apples which actually turned out really well! Last year, saw Nigella on pi Day, waited over an hour to get a book signed, and talked to her about pi the number. ♥️

#CycloneAlfred is late and I foolishly thought I could buy some extra milk and eggs last minute. Totally sold out of course. Instead, impulse bought 2 pints of Ben& Jerry's bc they were on sale. Meanwhile my partner made 20+ gorditas. So that's what we'll be eating 👍 Stay safe #Brisbane
