#10 Pragmata Excellent. Original. Space. Combat. Characters. Enemy & Level Design. Loved the Hacking Mechanic, Mods, Abilities, and evolving gameplay throughout. Big bad is kinda dumb and story overall is predictable but who cares. Current GOOY front runner. 4.5 ⭐️
#9 Spider-Man 2 Review coming to @carpoolgaming.com but quick notes: Miles is excellent but underused. Venom RULES. Kraven too. Most mini-games are not good, some downright bad/boring. Don't love the skill trees in these games. Traversing through NYC feels as good as ever. Good not great. ⭐⭐⭐ ½
20 miles. I would only have another 10k to go for race day. Still more work to do but I felt okay today.
Procrastinated basically the entire day until I had no choice but to hustle in the last few kilometers. Very happy with this “tempo” run especially because this time includes a three minute walk at 5k.
A very busy May is done. 250kms / 155 miles. Ran 19 of 31 days. I’ve never ran this much in a single month. I’m 41 years old. Marathon is in August. We’re doing ok.
Everything hurts. Todays session: 11kms easy 13kms doing 2 mins at 10k pace then 2 mins easy. This was killer. Then 3 kms easy. It wasn’t pretty.
100% nose breathing. 5 mile “easy run”. This is my first year of embracing the “easy run” in order to increase my overall mileage and just get out more often. It’s absolutely working. I don’t get nervous about my runs and my recovery is MUCH better than when I tried to set a PR every outing.
Running a 10k in under 60 minutes was a New Years Resolution for 2026. I say was because it just happened. Trust the process.
8k while breathing through my nose. 3x 5k intervals - which all felt great. Then 3k slow to get my heart rate to settle. Total 16 miles. This one wasn’t about setting any records but what I thought was some good drill work, confidence building, and time on my feet. Nice bounce back from Thursday.
Sharing the low points if I’m posting about the marathon training. This is the type of run that makes me want to quit running AND content creation AND most other endeavours. Absolutely soul crushing. Nothing in the tank. Dead legs. Panicked breathing. Full of quit. I won’t quit. Just need a rest.
OOF! River Valley Stairs and Hills session humbled me big time. Lots of work to do still. But I’ll see those hills again soon.
Felt great nice and easy until last 5k. Oof. Still good. Had to do my long run today because tomorrow is Mothers Day.
3k warmup. 9k “fast”. 1k cool down. Now I gotta go get the kids to school. Tricky to fit all this in. I’ve been getting a little comfy in Zone 2 so today was a confidence booster that I can sustain a good pace and not panic in Zones 3 and even 4.
Interval training. First three 3k at zone 2. Then fast 1k at a time. This is with a 2-3min rest between k from 4-9. Then an easy k cooldown.
Really pleased with this one. Goal was to keep my heart rate at or below 140bpm until 2 hours. Then I had lots in the tank to gradually ramp up my final 4K. Anyway. You can do anything you set your mind to. Believe in yourself and get after it.
Only one other month (June 2023, 113.87kms) logged more mileage. Hoping to stay healthy and do even more in May.
First outdoor run of the year. Very happy with introducing some serious hills into the training. Happy with executing the marathon training plan as close as I can. Genuinely putting my best effort forward and I’ll remember this during my marathon attempt in August.
Oof. This was supposed to be a faster run but I took off too quick and ran out of gas early. Good lesson learned (again). Also apparently 6.2miles isn’t quite 10k so my watch only awarded me a 5k achievement. I’ll get em next time.
OMG this felt incredible. One of my goals in 2026 is to hit a 25” 5K. Still a ways to go but we got time and I’m stubborn.
I heard from a wise friend that the 10k is the cornerstone of marathon training. This felt great. Nice and easy. The hardest part was showing up. I had the “I don’t wannas” big time this morning.
