Hadn't heard about this; what incredible news! Lost the best kitty in the world to kidney failure a few years ago - he found an ibuprofen on the floor at 6 mo and nearly died. Sub-q fluids, phosphorous binder etc gave him 8 happy years, and I'd do it all again in a heartbeat.

Malarkey, a seal point Siamese, sits in a cardboard box, staring soulfully just beyond the camera lens.

To add further context to this excellent thread; a Russian security forces official was one of those who tried to expose the apartment bombings for what they were - his name was Alexander Litvinenko. You may remember him as the Russian 'dissident' poisoned on UK soil in 2006... by Putin's FSB.

.... I just realized I've never had a villain crush. Genuinely cannot think of one, ever. I think the closest I ever came was maybe this guy? But even that was more a "appreciate the social commentary" more than "I want to jump him." Christ, no wonder I can't land a date to save my life. 🤣

One more time for the "Biden farts rainbows/would've won/bears no responsibility for where we are now" crowd (it's okay, NYT, you can say "under the Biden admin," you won't melt):

Keep trying, Jorts. My Malarkey was bound and determined to speak English, and eventually taught himself to say "Pyrovile" ("Ire-ire!" which meant "turn off the scary Doctor Who episode!") and a three syllable "ooo-ooo-ooh" that was 100% "I love you." Still miss him every day.
