Northwest Passage This image began on a foggy day in Iceland in 2015, photographing the ice-filled glacial lagoon at Jökulsárlón to create photos that I could one day use in a #composite. Last June that day arrived and I began to build the scene that eventually became this image. 1/4

Senior Prom I enjoy the creative discoveries I find with in-camera #doubleexposures. These are sequential shots; the first is taken, then I find a second composition to complement the initial image (which appears as a transparent overlay on the live view in the camera viewfinder). #fujix100v

An in-camera double exposure of two scenes photographed in an art museum. In the main scene a teenage couple in formal attire are seen in an elegantly appointed late 1800s style room with an intricate parquet floor, walking through an ornate carved wooden archway into another room. The young woman wears a blue off-the-shoulder ball gown, the young man wears a tuxedo. On either side of them are red display cases that contain antique porcelain pieces. There is gilded decoration at the top of the walls. The second exposure shows a classical marble stature in a diagonal pose of a semi-nude woman holding a hand to her brow as if she is gazing into the distance. I'm seeing #CloseEncounters OF THE THIRD KIND (1998 director's cut) tonight on the big screen. I haven't seen it in a theater since I ran the Special Edition version back in my #projectionist days. These are 2 frames from that very beat-up print (I had to repair a bad splice in this section).

Waiting within the Buddha on the shores of the multiverse (in-camera #doubleexposure) I enjoy the site-specific creativity that comes with in-camera double exposures. It’s a different way of seeing since the two photos need to be taken sequentially w/ the camera I am using (a Fuji x100v).

It's time for my annual message to the TSA about the large suitcase full of strange items that I'm taking to #AdobeMAX for the "Lightroom Mobile Photographic Treasure Hunt" pre-conference session that Katrin Eismann, Chris Ayers & I will be leading. Might make an interesting airport x-ray scan.

A large suitcase packed with many strange and varied items, including two life size human skull replicas. On the top of these items is a note to the TSA inspectors, informing them that the contents of the suitcases are for a photography workshop.

It's always a good day when a batch of processed film comes back from the lab! In this case, 7 rolls of medium format B&W: 5 rolls from my pinhole camera, 1 from a Lubitel, & 1 roll that was found in an old Voigtländer twin lens reflex that was given to me. #filmphotography #analogphotography
