Yes. It's absolutely, perfectly, crystal-clear from a visual storytelling standpoint ALONE that GenAI is an absolute nightmare and an affront to humanity. Speaking of, I saw this the other day at HomeGoods among their framed "art":

AI generated images being sold as framed art. People walk around a car while being possibly photographed from behind. All their faces are nightmarish smears and the geometry of the car is absurd.

The full framed poster that says, absurdly, "POWER MOVES ONLY."

Finally watched Rohrwacher's LA CHIMERA last night, which is now one of my favorite movies of the last few years, and one thought that kept banging around in the back of my head was how great Josh O'Connor would be as Lupin.

I was digging through 4K screenshots of various movies, and my jaw hit the floor at this shot of Melinda Dillon reflected in the mirror looking perfectly alien with her elongated neck, odd angle, and oversized head. I've seen CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND countless times and never noticed this.

Thursday! Anecdotal aside: I bought this movie on widescreen VHS in 1996, carried it with me in my luggage whilst practically vibrating to play it, and watched it shortly after getting home. It's the first and only movie I've ever [rewound and] watched a second time right away.
