screenshot from indeed offering an ai service that writes a resume, over which i wrote "fuck you" in red. but, really, the issue is that resume writing is an unequal exchange between employer and jobseeker. letting AI do that work for you obfuscates further that the system is meant to help maintain the existence of a permament unemployed underclass

i think, in the world we live in where LLMs just exist now, the most useful piece of knowledge a person can have is a broad understanding of the math that underpins the entire thing. for one simple reason: LLMs have uses, but if you dont have some grasp on what it can or cant do, advertisers can make outrageous claims about it, capturing people who dont know any better, while also insulating them from the people who only know enough to hate LLMs, who are very loud in hating LLMs. the division and ire is an advertising strategy. (this says nothing about whether its working, in fact, most of the time when an industrial innovation like this doesnt work, the capitalists investing in it turn to the capitalist state, that organ which is a tool to maintain class conflict in benefit of the capitalist class, to enforce laws which make that industrial innovation mandatory.)
anyway, learning about a thing is good is the lesson here.

got me thinking about cooking now :3. this is what i made for dinner tonight. recipe in alt

white rice to cook offscreen
minced garlic in neutral oil until just browning
tomato paste diced tomato, 16 oz can of water, msg, salt, onion powder, nutritional yeast, bay leaf in, continue cooking med heat
halfway through add beans, i had 2 cans of fresh pinto and 1 can storebought red beans. usually i do a can of black beans but i didnt have any. also can of corn.
also add cayenne, smoked paprika, cumin, thyme, sugar, cinnamon, and “liquid smoke”. simmer on low heat until rice is done. layer rice chili and melted cheese~
