I was fighting fascism with the power of love and kindness and just really getting my ass handed to me. A total bloodbath. The referee would have stepped in by now but they had knocked him out with a steel chair. The only others watching were wither fascists themselves or the people trying to fight fascism with the power of love and kindness and they weren't having a go of it either. I kept trying to explain in between haymakers that we were better than this and on top of that it wasn't likely to be ruled on favorably as far as the courts. None of it helped. I was on my knees now bleeding profusely from the mouth and nose. It spilled out of me onto the snow in a pattern that if you sort of squinted at it from the right vantage looked like a cartoon heart. See that I pointed. In the luckiest pause of a video I've EVER done, I caught the frame of interest:

I'll do my best to be concise. Two ICE agents are slipping on literal ice. One of them is mid fall and a light appears to be shining out of his ass. It's not a weapon discharge, as the reflection of light hits the snow just like a flashlight does at an angle.

To be clear, ICE are still fuckwits. This pair of them simply didn't have their rifles discharge while still in mid-fall.

Oh, and the image as blurry as fuck because I screengrabbed a single frame of a video. Them's the breaks sometimes.

A metaphor might help to see what is at stake.

Think of the executive branch before January 2025 as an aquarium in which various agency fishes were swimming around acting like a government. Trump inserted a blender into the fish tank because he asserted that he has the constitutional power to create fish soup. It matters if the court allows the blender to be turned on while it decides the legal question of whether the Constitution permits the president to make fish soup. Though it’s easy to turn an aquarium into fish soup, the reverse operation is impossible. So, the allowing Trump to turn the blender on while waiting for an answer about the soup decides the case.

Within five minutes of learning about the contents of your legislation, I pulled up a meta-analysis on the vaccine effectiveness against hospitalization for COVID mRNA vaccines. (It's attached, with some highlighted bits for those of you who can't read scientific articles.)

That effectiveness value? Oh, it's around 80% - so your bill is designed to make criminal a scientific achievement that reduces hospitalizations from COVID by approximately eighty-motherfucking-percent.

Maybe that wasn't your intent, because none of you decided that consulting with actual scientific experts was necessary when legislating science. If that's the case, here's a quick article from the World Health Organization to clear things up.
