I don’t want this card in this new fun card game to have an error. maybe I am just not familiar enough with this sense of ‘effect’? but why would they use this uncommon sense of a word in a children’s game

I went to a huge flea market yesterday and found this tiny vintage German-English/English-German dictionary possibly???? from 1901? anyway, the very last entry is weed and says “let us smoke a quiet weed together” and I just love it
