3. (contd) with skateboarder coming towards me. Driver 3 behind me decided to overtake me, forcing the skateboarder to jump out of the way, then blew through Harvard 4-way without stopping, while I was stopped there! Skateboarder chased after driver to no avail. All that in less than 10 minutes! 3/4

Driver 2 overtook me at intersection of Pepperell & Vernon as I came to a stop for a pedestrian to cross. I caught up with the driver at the Quinpool lights, after the pedestrian had safely crossed 🤷‍♀️ Driver 3 was the worst. Riding along Allen towards the diverter, passing 2 parked cars... 2/4

This is where we used to live!

The safety of all bridge users is HHB’s top priority, and therefore we follow the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Act when it comes to allowing motorized vehicles such as e-bikes and e-scooters to use the bike lane:

Provided the vehicle on the bike lane has an independent steering and braking system and is not required to be registered under the Motor Vehicle Act (MVA)
Users must follow the posted speeds
Any vehicle that is required to be registered under the MVA must use normal vehicle lanes

Urgh, TIL too. I went in early to work yesterday morning and a cute looking mutt hurtled past me in the other direction heading straight for Connaught. No human in sight that it belonged to. I tried to catch up with it but it had disappeared. I worry for its safety

I'm particularly interested in the forced car ownership data. This is for Canada - looks similar in NS but is a pretty small sample size provincially. Car dependency isn't great for anyone & people want better options. Lots to explore for the data nerds out there! 2/2

This tells us that mobility choice is important and more cars isn't the solution that some politicians seem to think it is.

We loved Bratislava when we visited a few years back. Spotted this cargo bike while enjoying a coffee & people watching. Also pretty cool to be able to take a catamaran to Vienna along the Danube from right outside our hotel!

At least I was able to tether my bike OK this time. Just a few weeks ago the rack (if you can call it that) was blocked by snow 🫠 #ZeroVisionHFX #BikeHFX
