Not all costs to have Prov run HC, it’s higher A billion a year extra for hands on care by redesigning system admin and providing consistency across Canada where it makes sense to. We can do better when we stop listening to shouts of Prov jurisdiction w/o measurable benefits to back it up

S Korea nationalized healthcare, Japan is a more nationalized health system with less duplication of what is run by prefecture than Canada has. All for more spending on HC. Let’s cut the duplication that leads to Prov run costing in the billions to shift that money to hands on care.

There has to be criminal wrongdoing and it’s bananas that no Premier has spoken out about the duplicate work or decades to do what should take less than a year to complete. The original purpose to exist was interoperability. Where is Health Canada in all this failure too?

Japan, ~4 weeks for all to get to a specialist- non-urgent referral. 2 week non-urgent MRI’s for all. Universal system, care prices set by the national gov based on a points system. I cannot explain it, but proximity to large city / population of area type of stuff impacts. S Korea worth a look 2

I’ve read thru a lot of the CHA, this report on jurisdiction, the Romanow Report + statements on older HC national commissions. Fed’s have more power than they utilize, IMO. I’m not a legal expert. Good Governance clause seems ignored by all.

We have a similar ratio of Doctors and are between Japan and S Korea on nurse ratios. However, they have 5 times as many hospital beds / 1000 people as Canada does. Premiers constantly fail us w/o the accountability.

Cost / km2 less important, travel time is not our holdup for care. This first table is per definition in 2nd pic. Not all costs to have Prov run. The last 2 photos are on information systems, not every Prov lists the financials. Infoway is billions over the years too, no accountability.

Good governance clause has been ignored. Fed’s have a lot of influence, but do not exercise it. We pay in the billions annually just to have Prov jurisdiction, no coverage on that. Private pay & 2 tier gets lots of coverage, minus complete facts. Time for another health commission.

If PrescribeIT was efficient and effective it would have been adopted quickly. Why do Rx’s written in the EMR not get issued to both the patient and the pharmacy that the patient has agency to select as they need based on location, cost or fill time?

Sold off Petro-Canada Canadians lost out on billions of revenue from the sale.

It was a waste of money from the word go. Sacking the guy now is not enough, Infoway needs to be shut down. New team & org w/oversight built-in. The whole Infoway structure is a failure. Never been accountability on the billions blown. Also sack those approving the spending on Infoway.

We pay billions annually to have Prov run healthcare. Is there a clear measurable benefit for this cost? I see none. Nostalgia and Premiers shouting jurisdiction brought us to this point. These are not all costs to have Prov run healthcare, it’s higher. From CIHI per definition.

Premiers ignore experts we pay to study our health system. The CMPA will defend Doctors = investors. Federal Act set this up generations back. Politicians ignore issues of medical harm compensation & the recommendation for patient choice of no fault or courts. A dream for private investors.
