My cat has been sitting staring at me to get me to open the door for her. I know for a fact she’s been going in and out her catflap for the last week while I’ve been on holiday but she reverted back to needing the door opened for her straight away. And of course I opened it. I’m a mug. 🙄

A new book started today: The Stirrings: Coming of Age in a Northern Town by Catherine Taylor. Set in the 1980s.
I’m really enjoying The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon, based on the true story of a midwife and healer in Hallowell, Maine in the 18th Century. #historicalfiction

This photo popped up today from a holiday in Quebec 3 years ago. My favourite day was spent sitting in the garden with this little chipmunk while the others went off to do touristy things.
I’m not a big fan of Jeremy Clarkson (particularly after he nearly ran me off the road In his humongous Range Rover in the Cotswolds once) but I agree with him in his post below. The Scottish Borders is a pretty overlooked area of the UK but it’s a very lovely place to live or visit.
Just been to see David Sedaris at the Lyseum in Edinburgh. Hilarious as always.
My cat Thistle is 10 years old today. I got her when I was living in the Cotswolds but she has spent most of her life patrolling the fields near our house in the Scottish Borders. She is spiky - very much living up to her name.
I saw Alanis Morissette in Glasgow last night. For some reason I assumed it would be mainly women but it was pretty much 50-50. She had some excellent gender inequality messaging on the big screen. I’m not used to mid-week nights out these days and have been exhausted all day today. #lightweight
There were pretty cool clouds over the Eildons last night while I was out walking.
