There’s always something delightful about recognising a place you’ve been in a piece of art! I had a great day out in Enoshima just a few months ago.

A large animal vet I know but isn’t on Bluesky says that looks like the right shape and size for a pig’s left femur, but not the head but the distal end (near the knee), and that it would be easy to get one from a butcher’s. Here is a wild boar’s for comparison:

I didn’t know I did this until a friend who into photography asked me to see my photos from a trip to Japan, and he was shocked how many photos of bike parking I had compared to say, sunsets or vistas.

I got to see a print of this one in person a few years ago at an exhibition and it’s just gorgeous!

I had the opposite experience with this exact painting! Somehow in real life is looked so cheesy… It’s not all of them though, “Liberty Leading the People” in person was a life-changing experience.

I once had the bizarre experience of being stuffed into a little airport bus so that we could do one full loop of the plane before boarding. The Innsbruck staff insisted this was “Easyjet policy”: there should always be a bridge or a bus. Innsbruck was gorgeous enough to almost make up for it.

I love how they’re common enough that you can bump into one anywhere, and rare enough that’s it’s a real treat every time. This guy was trying to get some breakfast in Birmingham Canal.

There’s also actually a handful of different ways to measure sunrise and sunset which might also account for the length of the day not being quite what you expect! I believe Apple’s Weather app uses civil sunrise and sunset. www.timeanddate.com/astronomy/di...
