We did it! Slow as hell but we did it. Hardest hike yet. 5.6 miles. 2070 feet elevation gain. Most of the trail was rocky. 5.6/25.6miles #hiking2026

5 mins before this photo was taken, Beef was in butthead mode harassing Sadie and me. Then he fell asleep in the middle of gnawing on his snake, like an overtired toddler.

Started knitting a tank top. I’m trying ti cut down my phone time and knitting helps with that.

I have been feeling a bit down this weekend. Yesterday I napped for 2 hours. Gray picked a short and pretty hike for us. Mill Creek falls and Pearsony falls. 2.9/20miles #hiking2026

Yesterday we hiked Hitt road/acid rocks loop. It was a short hike with some rock scrambling which I wasn’t expecting. Rock scrambling is kinda fun. 0.9/17.1. #hiking2026 So my hiking trail app is now tracking my total miles hiked for the year and I hadn’t been including all my hikes. Now I am!

I don’t think that is gonna be enough wood chips but it will be a good start.

Yesterday was the hardest hike we did. 1800+ elevation with an out and back 5.4 miles. It was beautiful and I didn’t take enough photos. 5.4/12.6 miles #hikeing2026

Today’s hike was the most difficult hike we have hiked. 1800+ elevation gain in 5.4 mile out and back hike. We are chuffed by how delightful it was of a hike.

I took myself on a Mother’s Day hike. I had a bunch of grim thoughts about my dead mom, but the hike itself was quite lovely.

I harvested some of the fava beans I planted last fall. The plants are still flowering so I’ll get more beans in a few weeks.

I couldn’t get an aftermarket keyfob yesterday cuz there is an electrical issue with my car. I am hoping is just a blown fuse. Hoping. Till I fix that, my car is just going to beep every time I unlock it. I went mushroom hunting for an hour cuz I was mad about everything. No mushrooms found.

Used some of the naan dough to make flatbread for dinner.

Ok. I looked at the paper. The only other comparison of 2013 to 2023 numbers are % of types of health care coverage of children. The actual differences of private insurance to public insurance from one decade to another is less than 2%. Same with no insurance.

Today is Kid’s birthday, and they wanted Korean Hot Pot for their birthday dinner and a chocolate mint cake. So I watched a bunch of videos, looked up recipes and did my best. Birthday adult child is happy and everyone is full.

I’m making naan for tomorrow’s dinner and I am chuffed by how they turned out. They are soft and delicious. I am getting closer to getting the cast iron griddle temp dialed in. Not perfect but better than the store bought naan I have been finding.
