As fall creeps in, I'm excited to share that my first mini tabletop roleplaying game is coming out in this brilliant anthology from @scryptidgames.bsky.social. In "Cryptid Case Files," you'll play cryptids creating a true crime podcast investigating the disappearance of a fellow cryptid. 🔎 💙📚 🌈📚
Had to snap this photo this morning because it was giving me #Tolkien vibes. "This is it. If I take one more step, it'll be the farthest away from home I've ever been." 💙📚 📝
#GenCon friends! Need a #cozy #gamer read while you're traveling or waiting in line? Check out the Wren Winters mystery series including 'Game Over' (in which a #cosplayer mysteriously dies at a #boardgaming #convention...). 💙🎲 🎲✂️ ☕️💀📚 ⚡️📚 🔎💀📚 tulepublishing.com/series/a-wre...
Add in here making coffee, pacing around the house thinking, talking to the cats, rereading what I've already written for the hundredth time, etc. #writerslife 📝 💙📚 ⚡📚
For those of you, like me, who struggle with today's holiday, here's 5 seconds of serotonin boosting cat purrs to get you through the day.
What garden-themed games do you love playing with your besties?
Summer is finally here. When I'm not writing or playing games, I love planting (read: weeding) in my garden. But sometimes danger lurks amongst the green and growing. My protagonist, Wren Winters, knows this all too well as she investigates her friend's poisoning in Murder, She Rolled. ⚡️📚 📚💙 💙🎲 📚🌈
If you're in the #Ithaca area on Wednesday, come join the fun! This is my first time as a #BookClub guest and I'm thrilled to be attending the Killer Coffee Club. Mysteries and caffeine? Yes, please. #CozyMystery ⚡️📚 📚💙
Tomorrow I'm heading over to the B&N in Vestal to meet readers and sign books! Do you like reading a #cozymystery or playing #boardgames? Come by and chat! Tell me what game you love to play or the latest must-read you can't put down. I'm always looking for more recommendations! (Sorry #tbrpile)
📚New series 🔪New crimes 🕵️♀️New investigators 🦊🌊Look for the Foxkill Murder Cases coming in Fall 2027 from @tulepublishing.bsky.social ⚡️📚 📚💙
May not have won the Agatha award, but this little Agatha cat is all I need (and Spruce too). Congrats to Adrian Andover on his well-deserved win! And thanks to everyone who made my first Malice so welcoming and fun. I can't wait to attend again next year!
I had the pleasure of meeting the other Best Debut Mystery nominees at Malice Domestic today! #AgathaAwards #cozymystery
Looking forward to my first #malicedomestic next week! It will be so nice to put faces to names and meet folks in person. 📝 ⚡️📚 🔎💀📚 ☕️💀📚
Made this for an author takeover, but it was too fun not to share. I might use this in a future creative writing class to get them inspired with something different. What #mystery character are you? I'm an Outgoing Gossip (clearly fiction!). 😂 📚💙 ⚡️📚 🔎💀📚 ☕️💀📚
Sinister Spring is happening this Saturday! Featuring Terrie Farley Moran, co-author of the Murder, She Wrote series! @upperhudsonsinc.bsky.social ⚡️📚 📚💙 🔎💀📚 ☕️💀📚
To be honest: March was rough. I bounced off many of these probably because I was in a crappy headspace. A few of these were written in the 90s & I was turned off by the more casual attitude to issues like domestic violence. Fingers crossed that April is kinder. What's next on your TBR pile? ⚡️📚 📚💙
Lots of fun book events coming up soon! Looking forward to signing books at the Kingston B&N this Saturday, April 4 and then joining Terrie Farley Moran, co-author of the Murder, She Wrote book series, for Sinister Spring at the Clifton Park Library on April 11! events.cphlibrary.org/event/15772314
Proud to have been awarded my campus's President's Diversity and Inclusion Award today. It was wonderful seeing the student recipients (almost all of whom I've had in class before!) and meeting their families. Really proud to do this important work making our campus more accessible and inclusive.
Good purchases made this morning at the #AWP26 book fair. 📚💙 🌈📚
Missing out on Left Coast Crime this weekend, but looking forward to AWP and Malice Domestic! ⚡️📚 📚💙 🌈📚
What great company! Many thanks to @maddieday.bsky.social for this great photo of the #AgathaAward nominees for Best First Novel. Looking forward to meeting everyone at #MaliceDomestic ❤️ ⚡️📚 📚💙
The book blanket continues with a K-9 mystery, "Trail Gone Dark" by Sophie Lyon. So far I've done a dozen squares and had to bust out a spreadsheet to keep things organized. ⚡️📚 📚💙
Had my students play #Clue today in preparation for their Clue(re)do assignment in which they modernize the classic game featuring a setting/cast/weapons of their choice. One group marveled at the older copy I had bought at the thrift store (which is the same version I played as a kid). 💙🎲 ⚡️📚
What could be cozier than reading a mystery on a chilly winter's day (especially with six more weeks of winter in the forecast...)? Playing a mystery themed board game, of course! Here are some great recommendations that will have you playing detective in no time. #boardgames #gamenight 💙🎲 ⚡️📚 📚💙
Started off the new year with a slew of mysteries and thrillers. I've been reading some slightly darker/less cozy mysteries to help get me into the mindset as I write my next novel, which (spoilers!) isn't a cozy. Any good suggestions out there for my February reads? ⚡️📚 📚💙
Decided to create a #bookblanket this year! Here's one of the first granny squares I've made to correspond with "A Borrowing of Bones" by @paulamunier.bsky.social - a thrilling mystery that had me itching to lace up my hiking boots and hit the Lye Brook trails again. #ReadingIsResistance ⚡️📚 📚💙
At the end of my books, I include blog posts by the characters, sharing real-life boardgame resources. In "Player Elimination" research queen Esther had to post about @boardgamegeek.com - the ultimate source for finding out more about a specific game and so much more! 💙🎲 ⚡️📚 📚💙 🌈📚
The mystery writing community has been so welcoming and continues to amaze me. I am so proud to be part of this community. I can't wait to write the next book, cheer on my fellow writers, and welcome future new voices into the genre. Congrats to all the #AgathaAward nominees! ⚡️📚 📚💙 🌈📚
