A Shiny Blue Thing Collected By A Bird
@shinybluething
Ugly bird girl. Angry. Parent. Artist. Nonbinary, She/Her. Not anyone of note. Basically a chubby trash panda with anxiety. if you want to help with the cats.
Still photos of the same piece, if you don't like squinting at the spinny version.
One of today's efforts towards work to be sold at the college art club benefit sale this fall. I don't know yet if that's a moon or a sun. Depends on how I want to glaze it.
Final dispatch from ceramics class. I survived both critique and packing all of my work out to my car.
Penultimate dispatch from the ceramics studio: setting out everything that's not in the last glaze firing for critique. I think I have more than a dozen additional pieces to add to this.
And a video, so you can see all the design. This is one of my favorite pieces.
Frogsong with bonus wind gently rattling my old window screen. 12 second loop.
May the 4th be with you, have some super nerdy fan art.
Done now. There's so much text in this it is twice as long as the character limit for alt text. See detail shots of each side for full alt text, including some that's not visible in the flat photograph.
Today's dispatch from ceramics class, underglaze work on greenware because we are too close to semester's end to bisque first. That meant I could do incised designs, though, because you can do that on greenware.
Assembled the collaged textile elements, glazed them with acrylic medium and pva, pinned some folds and put it aside to dry. Next I'm finishing the remaining sections
Here's what I mean when I say acrylics change as they dry. Lighter colors become darker, medium darker shades can lighten. Everything can become more muted. Tuesday to today.
Stayed up late working on the parts for my mixed media painting and this is where I am. Lots more to do.
The camera app really sees these as faces
Today's dispatch from 3d design and painting class. The Fates in mixed media and found objects and an unfinished mixed media painting with collage and 3d elements.

April 16: Colorful This one kind of goes with the unfinished octopus mermaid doll, some of the concept art for her. Pencils, scanned and colored using a paint program (not sure which, I have about six). Eventually, she will look like this. I got sidelined by making her eyes. #RepostYourArt
Had a super busy long day at school on Wednesday and didn't post, then I got sick on Thursday :( So, today, I'm doing April 15, 16 and 17th, starting with this one: Soft for the 15th. I still need to finish that octopus girl. #RepostYourArt
Update on the sculpture: Partway done on figural sculpture is always very creepy. Strong weeping angel vibes.
Other final, for 3d design, Thread of Fate, so far:
I wish I had time to do my final painting project (mixed media, about me, but not a portrait) in oils. Oils are What You See Is What You Get, while acrylics ... change over time as they dry. It would be so much easier to paint my hand study, the focus of the project, in oils. Behold my zombie hand.
Violent slam wedging of reclaim? Check. No time on the wheel for me, glazing instead, and doing an actual assignment. That was making 10 glaze tiles. So I did that, with 25 of the underglazes.
