The old meeting the new. The Parade of Sails brought the tall ships into town for Boston 250. I geek out over this stuff.
Currently docked on the waterfront. Corporate ownership and leases for $80k a week. At that price, the dockage fees become insignificant (and they're very steep right on the boardwalk).
A true Queen Anne's Lace will always have the one very deep purple petal in the center of the blossom. They say it is a drop of Queen Anne's blood that was shed as she stitched the lace.
Sea surface temperatures from the early 1980's till now. We were doing a slow boil but the heat has been turned way up. Warmer seas mean bigger and more violent storms. A big thank you to all of the deniers. #ClimateChange
This is the latest wastewater data from north of Boston. World Cup visitors and games didn't cause a spike. It's been like this for awhile now. 🤞 We'll see how low it will go and how long it remains there.
The butterfly was much bigger than it looks here but it was very shy. I usually have yellow swallowtails flying through. Nothing yet.
I have guests coming in for the week. This is my first attempt at Spanakopita. I took the advice of a friend and used a quality, imported feta that was in brine. I also made peach cobbler muffins. The peaches are on the bottom and you flip them over to serve. More of a dessert than breakfast. 🍜 🍽
It was powdery mildew. I grabbed this photo from the internet but this is what it looked like. It killed all the leaves and it happened for about 4 or so summers. So, I replaced with natives.
I give you a drink called Reflecting Pool Algae 😂🤣🤣😂 No, I won't be trying it. 🤢
Love it! I ripped out any Bee Balm that had mildew last year and replaced with a native. The other stuff was too high maintenance for this lazy gardener. 😆
And especially to the wonderful dads who are now with us only in spirit.
Solstice Blessings to all. Sunrise yoga on the beach gave us all a treat this morning. #Solstice
Team Norway has the most stunning team photos, Embracing their Viking heritage. I have found every Norwegian to be insanely attractive. 😉🤭 #WorldCup #TeamNorway 🇳🇴
This week an estimated 40,000 Scots have taken over Boston for the World Cup. Kilts and the brogue are everywhere. They call themselves The Tartan Army. My better half feels like he's gone home! The bars and restaurants are filled. They'regreat tourists! #Scotland #TheWorldCup #SoMuchFun
My fault. I was in Boston for a mtg and not being attentive to the written word. One of my favorite passages:
The Midnight Library is one of my very favorite books. I have numerous passages highlighted and actually reread them. So thought provoking. Thanks for directing me to The Midnight Train! One that I reread often:
The last of the native, wild Columbine found in the woods this morning. #NativePlants #WildFlowers
It's hotter than hell here and will be until Sunday or Monday. It's Frozen Chi Chi* time. *A Pina Colada where vodka is used instead of rum. Cuts way down on the sweetness. Always yummy. Come on over and enjoy a beverage! 🍹🧉🍜 #HotHotHot
Same, in addition to the NASA data, we also have a lot of this going around. 🤭
