Why not both? Gravel bikes can be cargo bikes, just fit a rear rack and get some Banjo Brothers Market Panniers. That's a 50 pound load from the grocery store on my acoustic gravel bike. An E-gravel bike is a luxury in my future...

Yes this. Grew up in Wheaton Il, the dot on the Aurora Elgin and Chicago line west of Chicago. Now it's the Illinois prairie path system. Salt Lake City gave up their interurban rail rights of way. Now they are spending money to try to retrofit what never should've been given up in the first place.
Yes this. When Sara stopped growing, I got her a 3x Trek touring bike w/rear rack and panniers. Sara graduated from the U with a bicycle and no car. She's now been a bicycle commuter for 19 years, over half her life, same bike. She just bought her own E bike to support her commuting commitment 🥲
Yes this. We just got lucky. Las Palmas opened up on the bike path next door to our neighborhood & the food is excellent. That's the Aquachile, a Sinaloan spicy shrimp ceviche with avocado & mango 🌯 🌮 ❤️
