A leisurely walk up the Wrekin turned into a dash for the summit when I spotted a hot air balloon over the Stretton Hills. I arrived at the top with just seconds to spare as it came in to land. In the distance are Caradoc, the Lawley and the Long Mynd. A great sight. #Shropshire

Harvest time beneath Bromlow Callow, near the Stiperstones. It’s an easy walk to the summit of this iconic hill, which has been a landmark for drovers for hundreds of years. I was looking out over the Rea Valley and this was my view just after sunrise. #Shropshire

Follow me at sunrise on a walk to the top of High Rock for one of the best views to be had of Bridgnorth. On the way up, there were dragonflies skimming above the long grasses and dancing in the early sunshine. A lovely sight in the cool of the morning before the heat started to ramp up. #Shropshire

Sunshine and shadow - golden evening light picks out the folds and contours of the Redlake Valley. I was standing on Shropshire’s ‘other’ Caradoc for this shot, taken a few days ago while I was out with my drone. This is the view looking across the landscape towards the Clun Valley. #Shropshire

Sunrise in the Onny Valley, near Norbury, with layers of mist shimmering in the early morning sunshine. I was standing on Heath Mynd, just south of the Stiperstones. After reaching the summit I watched as the mist started to clear and revealed houses dotted about among the fields. #Shropshire

Delighted that my photography inspired an artwork now on show at #Shropshire Arts Society's Summer Exhibition in St Mary’s Church, Shrewsbury. Tim Parker produced a pastel painting of deer on Burrow Hill after attending my talk at the Long Mynd Camera Club. The exhibition runs until July 18.

Just look at that face! I caught this young roe deer on camera yesterday morning, and I can almost forgive it for stealing our raspberries. I know it’s only a week since I last posted about deer in our garden, but I just had to share this clip. #nature

Come with me on a walk up to Flounders’ Folly, a stone tower that stands 80 feet above Callow Hill, near Craven Arms. I woke up at 4am yesterday and arrived not long after sunrise - wishing that I had taken my fleece with me, as there was a surprisingly chilly breeze at the top. #Shropshire

Always keep a pair of wellies in the car - that’s one of the first lessons I learned as a photographer. This is sunset at Pole Bank on the Long Mynd. I needed to walk a few metres into the water to get the shot I wanted - and I couldn’t have done it without my trusty wellies. #Shropshire

The deer are back in the garden and they have a little one with them. I found one day they had eaten a lot of my raspberry plants, so I put up some deterrents - motion sensors that pulse a light and play the radio, which is working. The final clips are from a recent trip out in south #Shropshire.

Dawn mist shrouds the fields around Clun Castle. The view kept changing as the mist rose and fell in waves, first hiding the castle and then revealing it. I would take a picture and, a few minutes later, think 'oh wait, it’s better now' - only to do the same thing again and again. #Shropshire

Follow me on a walk to Battlestones on Willstone Hill, near Church Stretton. Great views from the summit and a wonderful signpost - well worth the effort of getting up there. #Shropshire

Long shadows stretch across the fields beneath the Long Mynd, with the peak of Black Knoll seen rising on the left. I was standing on Burrow Hill and enjoying the early evening peace and quiet and watching as red kites soared overhead. Hard to think of a better way to spend my time. #Shropshire

How inviting is this - a winding path leading up to Caradoc on a hike around the Stretton Hills yesterday. I had to wait a good 40 minutes to catch the light I wanted, but time always flies when I’m out with my camera in the #Shropshire countryside.

The things you see when you’re doing the washing up - here’s a great spotted woodpecker feeding its baby outside the kitchen window. The adult was pecking away at the fat balls on the bird feeder and then flying back to put the food directly into the youngster’s mouth... #Shropshire

A view with a difference - this is Shrewsbury seen through a very long lens, with Caradoc in the distance. Caradoc is about 12 miles away as the crow flies, but the lens I used makes it seem much closer. Most people will recognise the tower of St Chad’s Church, but I had to look... #Shropshire

A perfect reflection - this shot of the Iron Bridge was taken from a few feet above the River Severn with my new drone. I've been photographing #Shropshire full-time for 14 years now, and it’s so refreshing to see the county from an entirely different perspective.

A favourite spot of mine is this stretch of the Llangollen Canal next to Blakemere, near Ellesmere. I’ve photographed it many times because the surrounding trees are great for reflections. On my last visit there was a colourful narrowboat moored up, but I needed another one to... #Shropshire
