Freaking amateur hour in this Mariners Rays game. Tampa could *easily* cram another three ads behind home plate!
Did his AI slop machine spit out The Shrike from the Hyperion series as an angel over his shoulder? The thing that murders everything it encounters?
There absolutely were weather warnings, both by the system and the kids on the site who were experiencing flooding. The owners of the camp simply did not have any sort of system set up to address, train, or prepare for a life threatening flood and now these poor children are dead because of it.
Baltimore Orioles city connect jersey channeling their inner Detroiters. Sam Duvet and Tim Cramblin would be proud.
In what I can only attest to residual WBC good vibes from Geno, my cats got off my lap, ate dinner, and then miraculously climbed back onto my lap.
This silly post pushed onto my timeline helped me discover that I had some accounts I needed to unfollow.
Kiefer Sutherland: WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR?! Me, in the driver seat of my 1998 Corolla, voice trembling: .... mmm...mmmm....myself sir. I'm a 10...1099 ww...with Lyft.
The Atlanta Braves could possibly have a 2026 bullpen consisting in parts of Joe, Joey, Joel, and José. Reminds me of that old Ed, Edd, and Eddy cartoon.
I'll wrap this thread up by saying I've had a hell of a time following this team for over three and a half decades. Given the chance, I'd do it all over again 100% This season has been a blast. I hope I'm able to add a few more "YEAHHHHH!" posts to this thread in two weeks. #GOMS 🔱 🧹 🧙♀️
Speaking of winning first world series, it's wild to me how many other franchises have crossed that off their to-do list since I first became a Mariners fan. Angels, Astros, Rangers, "Expos," and Marlins have all tamed that beast. Not to mention Cubs and Red Sox breaking their curses.
otw home, I gave up my seat so an old couple could sit together and the flight attendant slipped me a bottle of champagne as thanks. I vowed to keep it and pour on myself once Seattle finally won the World Series! (check the alt text for more info) I hope these don't sit unopened for much longer.
I semi-regularly went to a series in Seattle from 95-05. I've always been an east-coast guy, so it was a big trek for me every time. In 2001, I timed it to get an Ichiro Bobblehead and camped out all night for it. I still have it bobbling-away on my desk!
I even got to throw out the first pitch for one of their games in Oakland in 2000! It was a strike down the middle and I was floating on cloud 9 for YEARS after that, lol. I wish I had photos, but I do have a video clip at least! On the way to the field, I got stuck in an elevator with Vida Blue.
There's just way too much for me to post everything. I love some of the commentary I wrote in the margins. I was hyped over the Ichiro signing from the get-go! The photos become color as the years progress, but there's something special to me about the earlier black and white newspaper shots.
